Hello everyone...I was wondering if anyone knew what time Palo starts reservations for dinner? We have late dining on our west coast cruise and are thinking about doing the "Double Dipping" idea-we don't want to miss a thing and can't decide what night to make palo ressies....so we thought that the "double dipping" method was a genious idea!..lol

Palo is usually open from 6:00-9:00 on port days, and 6:00-10:00 on sea days. You should be able to make an early reservation and then hit your scheduled restaurant at 8:30.

A word about not missing anything: There will always be several things going on at the same time and you'll inevitably miss some things. My advice is always to pick something you like and go enjoy it without worrying about what you're missing. Hopefully, there will be a next time for the things you don't get to the first time around.

After you've had a 4-course dinner at Palo, it's unlikely that you'll be hungry for a 4-course dinner at your rotation restauarant. In fact, you probably won't even be hungry for another appetizer and dessert.

However, since each dinner takes a minimum of 90 minutes, you will miss that night's big show in the Walt Disney Theatre. The shows are very good (unless someone hates Disney entertainment), and it would be a shame to miss any shows. My advice would be to plan on "dinner and a show" or "show and a dinner" -- but not on "dinner and a dinner."

Some people double-dip so that they can accompany their young children to the rotation restaurant (although children can also eat in their club, and older children can dine in the rotation restaurant without their parents). I suppose some people double-dip if they have an unlimited appetite and capacity for food. But I woudn't recommend double-dipping for most people.

We attempted to do the double on the 4 day. Its a great idea, but the food is just so good at Palo you dont want to eat just a little bit. By the time we got to Parrot Cay we didnt want anything-not even dessert. We still went to have dinner with the kids on the last night but it was basically just for company. We had res at 6:00pm and were one of the first in the place, great thing about that time is we had a beautiful sunset during dinner. We didnt miss the show because they had a matinee show eariler in the day so it all worked out well. I agree most people cant eat twice, but with the 7 day you rotate so you will have two chances to eat in a particular place. Be sure to order the Chocolate Souffl'e(spelling?) at Palos!
