Palo Cooking Classes?

The DCL website says "This experience is offered once per cruise in Tortola for eastern itineraries and Grand Cayman for western itineraries while the ship is in port. Attendance is limited to 8 adults. "

I take that to mean it's only available on the Eastern & Western 7 night cruises.

Although the website says Grand Cayman for western itineraries, it is actually Jamaica day.

OK. Thanks PrincessShmoo! I appreciate you finding that for me. I figured it probably wasn't but the Fantasy was doing a rare 3 nt cruise so I was hoping.

I'm thinking that the reason the Fantasy is the only one doing it is because Palo isn't busy on a port day. The 3 night Dream cruises have Palo brunch on at least one of the port days, so it seems they can't do it. I would think a 3 night Fantasy cruise would be the same.

Thanks again PrincessShmoo for all the info. Bummer that it's not but makes sense. We do have Palo brunch ressies on Nassau day at least.

What recipes did the chef teach? I realize it can vary from cruise to cruise and ship to ship.

Earlier this year, we made flatbread, ravioli, and limoncello tart. I really enjoyed it, but it's not so much a cooking class as it is a recipe assembly class. The dough is pre-made for you, all the ingredients are set out, and you just put things together. I think that's partly for time, but also so you really aren't doing anything where there's even a remote chance of hurting yourself (such as with the dough stretching machine), there’s no actual use of a cooktop or oven, and there's not a knife in sight. The most instructive experience was making the the ravioli, which was a multistep process that involved some skill. I've since made them a couple of times at home and they turned out great!

Our son was to book this on our on cruise that sailed December 29, 2018. The ship was docked in Tortola the day it was offered and thankfully the port excursion desk cancelled the port adventure he was book on and did not charge us for it. We booked the cooking class once on board. The class consisted of 2 guest and since there was room 2 cast members joined as well. He really enjoyed it and it was one of the highlights of his cruise.
