I've never been to Palo before and would really like to go on our next cruise. Which would you choose, dinner or brunch?

It wouldn't even be a decision for me. Dinner is wonderful. I think for a first timer at Palo, dinner would be best. The ambiance is wonderful at night. Plus you get waited on rather than retrieving your own food.

Hi,

Have only had dinner!! Very good. Whatever you do, enjoy!

Allison

We enjoy the rotational dinning and we always have enjoyed the company of our table mates so we never have been to dinner at Palo. Need to go to dinner some time so I can have the souflee!

The brunch however is heavenly!!

Lots and lots of great food. Yes, you have to go get some of the food yourself - but there are so many choices and you can take whatever you want in the amount that you want. Your waiter will also take you up to the entree kitchen and show you the choices. When you are ready for your entree they will take your order and bring it to you. They will also bring you desserts or you can go and choose your own. All in all brunch is a very relaxed time. Great food, great company, great service!!

Just be sure to allow 1 1/2 to 2 hours for it.

Palo brunch is most definatly on our MUST DO list!

Ditto on the champagne brunch!
Rotation dining w/our great servers was not to be missed!

Have only experienced dinner at Palo. However, we'll be doing both the brunch and dinner on our cruise in June :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

This was so hard!

I thought it would be easy, but I labored over this.

Last cruise I went to Palo FOUR times (I know, I know).

We did have a ball at the brunch, and it was delicious, but it also took a substantial time out of the middle of the day (because it was our Dis Meet and we had such a good time).

But the evenings at Palo were something. Dressed to the nines or not, it was great.

Dinner was very good, similar to what one would find at a restaurant in a deluxe hotel. But brunch was probably the most enjoyable brunch I've ever experienced.

Also, consider the alternatives. If you don't go to Palo for a fine multi-course dinner, you'll go to one of the rotational restaurants for a fine multi-course dinner. The alternatives to brunch are much less impressive table-service or buffet options for breakfast or lunch.

::MickeyMo We've done both and I'll have to vote for the Brunch. We hope to do both on our July 10 cruise, but if I could only pick one it would be Brunch. I would be very disappointed if we missed it ! There's such a variety of food, the service is wonderful and the view...awesome.Nothing like sipping champagne and eatting the best food imaginable while gazing out at the beautiful ocean...a truly incredible dining experience !::MinnieMo

I really think another choice should have been

"I cannot choose between the two!"

Had both been an option that is what I would have selected. We always do at least one of each and on those lucky times we have done 2 brunches but I don't think I have ever done 2 dinners in one cruise. If we travel with our family I have one DS that is not old enough (2 of them are but still have one at 15) and that means he eats alone. But we have an adults only cruise coming in September so maybe...if given the opportunity....

Thank you all! :flower:

I think I've decided on brunch. I don't want to miss dinner with DS.

What days and times is the brunch offered? How much $ per person? Do you pay for each glass of champagne?

Think i'll go with brunch after all the mouthwatering reviews and we too were thinking about ds being alone, this way he can hang out in the arcade / pool etc while we chow down

Beam me there now please scotty

We have never done dinner at Palo, because we enjoy the dining rotation and eating with our children. We did do the brunch because they were busy with stuff during the day. It was wonderful - many, many choices and we're still waited on for the most part. I have to agree the view is wonderful - another reason why we opted for brunch. Can't enjoy the ocean view when it's dark. We are hoping to exchange 2 Palo dinners (one with vow renewal and one with romantic escape) for a brunch. Don't know if it can be done, but we're gonna try! Plus, I can't leave the dinner table without at least a bite of a Mickey bar. This of course after a few bites of one of the other delicious desserts!:mickeybar

Zandy......to answer your question, brunch is served on sea days only, so for your Eastern cruise Sunday, Monday & Thursday. The cost is $10 per person and includes one glass of champagne, after that it would be the normal cost of a drink for the additional glass of champagne. BTW I voted for brunch, we've done both on both of our cruises, (2 brunches on one!) and they are as everyone has described spectacular.

I noticed from the Navigators on Barb's site that the time listed for the brunch is from 10:30 to 1:00, is that the time that it's served, what time would you suggest making the reservtaion for, or do you have to get there at 10:30?
