Palms Hotel Maingate East (formerly Hampton Inn)

Has anyone stayed at The Palms Hotel Maingate East - formerly The Hampton Inn - on Parkway Blvd in Kissimmee?? They've got some fantastic rates ($60/night) for President's week and some good review on hotels.com, but I thought I'd ask here. We're basically just looking for a place to sleep - nothing crazy expensive, but not a dump either. Any other recommendations are appreciated as well. We'll need 5 nights. I already tried the onsite Disney Value resorts for our dates and they're sold out. :-(

We stayed there last year. I think it was called the Meridian Palms. It was fine. Not great. They screwed up our reservations by putting us in a king room instead of a room with 2 beds like requested. In addition they tried to charge me more for the room than what the reservation was. They did correct the reservation amount and gave us a room that we requested. The pool is not heated so it was very cold. Too cold for me, but the kids did swim a little bit. The breakfast was fine although the ran out of food quickly and it took them a long time to replace it. It was good enough for the price and the people were friendly. I won't stay there again, but not because it was so bad. There's just a lot of other hotels that I think are better. We stayed at the Comfort Inn and Suites the year before and I liked that.
