I heard that you can rent these at one of the parks. Is it at Magic Kingdom??? Do you know how much it costs?? TIA:)

Pal Mickey is an interactive toy that plays games and tells you information about the parks (I believe!) when you take him to the parks with you. I heard that you can rent them.

Pal Mickey can be bought for about $50 or rented for $8 per day. I believe he is available at most of the resorts and parks. He's about 12 inches high and when turned on will talk to you, tell you bad jokes and let you know facts about the park (like when the parade will be starting). Or at least that's what I hear. I'll have to wait until December or whenever I manage to get to WDW to check him out.

Thanks for the info!!!! We'll be trying it out when we go in November then!

I was talking to a CM on my recent trip who had a Pal Mickey. Pal Mickey will vibrate when you're near a point in the World that he has information for, and then he'll start telling you! I think it's pretty nifty.

I am looking at him as I write. He does tell corny jokes and plays silly games with when away from WDW, but when there he is really struts his stuff. He has a receiver in him and as he is carried around the parks he can tell you things that are going on. You might be in the MK and he may tell you that Chip and Dale are in front of the castle if you want to go see them.

My son is there on the the college program and his roommate has one. He had taken Mickey to the AK one day and had gone out of the park on the right side. The next time he took him, Mickey said " We went out that way last time, let's try it this way this time." Cool or what.

I think a previous poster said he rented for $8 a day. I know he costs $50. You at least need to try one. You will probably own one by the time you leave!

As I said he can say about 700 things I think. REALLY COOL!

We are going to get one for DD. Do they have it at DTD in World of Disney?

Pal Mickey is the cutest little guy. We had one waiting in our room upon arrival for my dd. To get him activated you press the button inside the zipper on his back. Where ever we went, he just knew where we were. He knew we were in the MK, MGM and the other parks. He would tell us he was scared of the haunted mansion when we were going on that ride. He tells silly little jokes and vibrates just before he's about to sy something. He comes with a belt clip, but I was afraid my dd would drop him and lose him. So, we bought a bottle strap at one of the stands and attached him to that. She hd no problem carrying him around. He's $50.00 to buy, and I know you can rent him also. I know the resort gift shops have him and I've seen him in a gift shop at Epcot. So I'm assuming you can get him all over.

How much does Pal Mickey weigh? Is "he" easy to carry?

How did you have one waiting in your room? Did you call ahead to resort gift shop? I'd like to do that for my DD as well. It would be nice to save the 10% though...who sells them? Does anyone have a photo???

Mickey is about 12" tall from ear to toe. I would say he weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. He actually has a clip attached to his head that can clipped on a belt, etc. He was designed, I think for a smaller child.

we did everything we could to prevent our 7 yo DD cotton on to Pal Mickey last week on our trip. The downside is that if you don't WANT your kid to know that Chip and Dale have shown up and 700 of their closest fans are already standing in line to see them, Pal Mickey spills the beans.

Once my DD latches onto something she thinks Mickey wants her to do, there would be NO steering her in a different direction.

IMO, Mickey would be REALLY valuable if, when your child took him through one of the gift shops which end every ride he said things like "You know, your mommy and daddy already bought you a present on this trip. Why not be grateful for the Princess Minnie rather than asking for more??" or... "I know that Princess wand looks cool, but it's cheesy plastic and will break before it's out of the park and really isn't worth $15. Let's just soak up the magic and not buy anything. :-)

That Pal Mickey I would spring for in a shot....

I passed a CM holding one in MK and asked him about it. He walked me down the street, trying to get PM to say something when Pal Mickey suddenly vibrated, giggled, and said, "Oh, boy! The parade's gonna start in just a few minutes! Let's go find a place to watch!"

Cool!

Now if they would just make it so you could hook him up to your computer and download your schedule...Can't you just picture, sitting at your desk at work, and having Pal Mickey suddenly giggle and say, "Oh, boy! Our meeting with that idiot client and our poophead boss is about to start! Let's go get some coffee! We're gonna need it!"

Very cool, lol!

When you rent the Pal Mickey you have to give a $50 deposit and then you rent him @ $8 per day...they figure if you don't return him, then you have paid the $50 to buy him. Of course you get the difference returned to you if you return him after day 1, day 2, etc. This information was posted at the checkout of our resort gift shop. So there is no need to give a credit card, or identification...just a deposit and you are on your way.
