Hi Bob:
We just got back from Disney World with Pal Mickey in hand. We LOVED him!
He works in all four of the parks (I don't know about the water parks, but I doubt it as he's not supposed to get wet...and he'll tell you that whenever you get near a water ride like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids).
This was our eighth trip to WDW and he showed us things we had no idea existed. "Hey, pal, there's a pathway hidden somewhere around here. If we follow it, we can see lots of neat animals. Wanna try?" or "Hey, pal, if the big fountain puts on a big show, do you think the little fountains will put on a little show? Let's find out."
He was informative, entertaining, showed different emotions about different things, and some of the things he said were absolutely adorable. My son let me take him to work with me after the trip (yes, I'm a middle-aged woman and I took Mickey to work) and even my co-workers fell in love with him.
By the way, he doesn't have to be annoying. He does have an easily accessible off button. When he wants to say something, he jiggles and giggles, and you have to squeeze his hand or tummy to hear the message - so, if you don't want to hear the message, just don't squeeze his hand. Also, Disney has blocked reception of messages during shows, so he won't start talking in the middle of Beauty and the Beast.
An added bonus - he's not a "one use" toy. We plan to bring him back on future trips. His tips about where attraction lines were shortest and suggestions for where to view fireworks were really useful.
Hope this helps,
Pirate
