We are thinking of buying a Pal Mickey for the family on our next trip for fun. Are they really good with information:confused3

We bought ours through the outlet store at Sawgrass Mills. I think it was 32.00. I'm glad we didn't spend anymore than that on him. by the 3rd day, we left him in the car b/c he wasn't useful and nobody wanted to carry him.

We actually had the oposite experience: All three of our children love them. A couple of years ago only our oldest had one, and the other two were constantly trying to barter it away from her. When the newer models came out we picked up a couple more of the first generation ones at a closeout price of around $16 each.
We just returned from a December trip to WDW, and I honestly think that at PalMickey appears in more vacation photos than I do!:earsboy:

We brought him the first few days to the park. After that, he watched over the room. He was just too bulky and hard to hear with crowds. He didn't even make the trip this year. I will admit that my kids do play with him while home. He tells jokes and plays games. I wouldn't pay full price--get him at discount if you can.

They have hem on ebay also if you want to try that. I am going in Feb and I can let you know how we like it. My sister swears by it.

We love our Pal Mickey!! We all fought over who was going to carry him. Of course, DS 4 won! I started our packing list (yes, I have OCD) :rotfl: and Pal Mickey is the first thing listed. :)

Although any Mickey doll is a nice doll it was heavy & bulky and didn't say anything very useful. Mine now sits in our room and will be missing our trip in 2 weeks.

I've wondered about this as well. I know that Pal Mickey would keep the kids entertained while in line and just in general...but would he drive DH and me to the brink of insanity after a few hours?! Also, we couldn't leave him hanging on the stroller when we go on rides so somebody would have to pack him! As the designated pack mule most likely that would be me! Although this year are instituting the "If you want to bring it, you have to carry it yourself" rule!

still not sure what to do...I think he'd be fun, but as my DH tends to be a "TURN THAT OFF" type of guy I worry that poor old mickey would have his voice box removed after an hour or two! Not really, but he'd be thinking about it!

We enjoyed having Mickey with us, DD is 3 and she loved playing with him,

There are a few of us that are Pal Mickey lovers.
I have lots of clothing for mine and I take him to work for the Seniors and Preschool children to see.

We on the DDA thread even have a Pal Mickey thread on his travels

We love Pal Mickey just look at my username::MickeyMo. We got ours in April 2005 so he is wearing a tux for the 50th year celebration. When we went on our trip this year (Nov.2006) we took him down with us and as we were entering US Customs and were asked about our citizenship we all answered Canadian except for this little guy my son's carrying. "He's American". We were curious to see if he would work and he did but we thought that he needed updating because he didn't mention anything about "Soarin" which was new for us. So I went into one of the stores at Epcot to ask. The castmember held Pal Mickey's nose onto a computer screen I think and that updated him for 2006. It was in this store that my kids were asked if they would like to sign Mickey Mouse's autograph book and both did. They were given "Year of a Million Dreams" certificates with their names on it. What a nice moment.

We were asked by I couple if PalMickey is worth it. And we answered for us he is. I told them how he surprised us all at Epcot when we were approaching Japan and PalMickey shook. When we squeezed his hand he said that in Japan there's a woman making candy....and there she was just a few steps ahead of us making animal shaped candy.

Also he reminded us about parades about an hour or half hour before the start time. ::MickeyMo

Ours goes with us every time we go to Disney - we got him the first year he came out so he is dated (thanks for the tip on updating although I think ours is too old to do that). He goes with us all the time, clipped to someone's belt/pants. We got him new clothes last year and likely will find something new for him this year too. He's not obnoxious to us plus you can turn him off. Ours talks the most in AK.
