Is Pal Mickey worth the price? He looks cute, but he is a tad expensive.

I don't know if I would pay $60 for one. I bought the older version a few months ago from Character Premiere for $13.99 + tax & shipping. He is definitely worth that! He is very cute. We haven't used him at the parks yet...give us 16 more days!!!

You could see if the older model is still available or check out ebay, I know ebay has them, if you can get a good price.

They are $65 now. I bought one for DS for his birthday. I bought the new model, only reason I bought it because I figured being so close to the parks and going all the time we would get some good use out of him. Honestly if we were just going for a week I wouldn't of bought him or I would of gotten the older version.

DS likes the stuffed animal in him and carries him around and hugs him and whatnot. I like the things he tells you about that I never knew was there, like the dragon made from rocks by the bridge on the way to Camp Minnie / Mickey.

? If we go once a year can we keep using the same Mickey

I purchased the old version of PM on Ebay before Christmas for my niece. I can't wait to take him with us on Friday and see how he works! :)

You can get them fairly cheap on Ebay, if you don't want to spend the $65 (which I didn't) I'd say go the Ebay route!

I hardly listened to him as I forgot and the park was too noisey - so I have no idea if he did ever give us park tips!
I think it is more useful for first timers.
But hay its Mickey,hes gorgeous!!!

We're staying at WL, I bought one through concierage, it should be in our room when we get there. Can't wait.

DW and I purchased one in August at the MK. We carried it with us everywhere we went on 2 seperate trips. Can't say that he's worth the $65, yet. It's a great concept but I don't think Disney is pushing out enough information to him yet. He is fun to mess with while waiting in line.

That's why its good to ATTACH HIM to YOU in such a way that you can FEEL his "WIGGLING & GIGGLING" (that's how Mickey "alerts" you when he has someting to say).

I always wear him near my chest. That way, when he wiggles, I can just lift him to my ear, squeeze his hand, and can comfortably hear his message (if its a GOOD one, I can have him REPEAT it (up to 3 times) with just another squeeze on his hand, so that others in my party can listen.)

Maybe $65 is a bit pricey, but you are getting an actual talking Mickey!! :cool1:

He looks well-made too, unlike some of the other shoddy crappy toys you see around stores today.

Remember that Pal Mickey will keep you/your kids entertained for many hours at home too. He is not solely for use in the parks. He tells lots of jokes and the older version Pal Mickey will play 3 fun games with you. The new tuxedo Pal Mickey will play 6 games and a few different sing-a-longs, as well as all his jokes. He has a larger vocabulary than the older version.

We bought 2 of the older versions for $13.99 each when the Disney outlet stores had them on sale last year. They were gifts for my mother and a little relative, both of whom may never ever visit Disney in the future.

And you can now buy 4 different outfits for him: rain poncho and boots, pin trader outfit, safari outfit, and Mickey Mouse Club outfit. Lots of fun! You could also make some cute outfits for him too.

I purchased the new version from character premeir before our last trip with shipping for 39.00, I did wear him and he is cute but a little cumbersome when it was raining I had to worry about keeping him under my poncho because I forgot to bring a baggie or something to protect him if it rained and I had a hard time hearing him, I had himm attached to my hip pack, maybe if he was closer to my chest I would have heard him better.

Bought the Celebration edition full price in the WL store my first morning in WDW in June. I loved him! He has a space of honor in my room now until I call him into action again. This was my 7th trip to WDW, and I'd already read plenty of books on WDW, Disney, etc. He still told me some things I didn't know and he was pretty funny (in a corny but cute kind of way). Also amusing when he got signals mixed up (ex. at Star Tours in MGM, he-- no joke!-- started yapping away about Epcot's Germany pavilion :rotfl: ; how that happened, I'll never know) Also kept me from getting too bored in longer lines. Worth every penny, IMO. Although after a week of him hanging from a lanyard around my neck, I got terrible neck pains (my neck still bothers me some). Lesson: put the lanyard on your shoulder, with Mickey facing forward. If he swings to the side or back too much, hold his hand and keep him in place. Beats bad neck pain, LOL.

We get to try ours out in 10 days!!!!!!!!!!!! But, is he worth it!!!!! Even without using him yet, we think he's worth it.......... we know DS is going to love him............. so that makes him worth it!!!!
