Just got back from St. Augustine FL. Last night at the Disney Outlet Store at the Belz Outlets they had piles of Pal Mickeys for $27.99. :earseek:

Wish I didn't already have one....

they are doing this because they have a NEW version of Pal Mickey coming out soon. He will have outfits he can wear and such. Can't wait to see what improvements/changes they have made.

Glad to hear he isn't being done away with..........that was my first thought ! I am assuming the old ones will still work.

But the idea of making clothes for him makes sense, can't wait to see him.

Thanks for the heads up ! :earsgirl:

What stinks is that the new one isn't out yet, and we leave in a few days. BF really wants one, so we have to buy the old one! I'd rather have the new one! :(

I just bumped another thread about this same topic, see Pal Mickey Cost. So far we have only found the discounted Pal Mickey at the St. Augustine location. The other thread includes a phone number to call. The store will ship Pal Mickey along with anything else you request for $10.95.

we're not going until next year, but if someone could pick one up for me and mail it to me, I could pay them via paypal. Thank you very much!!

I wonder if they are going to make him smaller.
I sort of want him to be smaller, because he will be easier to carry around.
But I already made a few outfits for mine, and have my basic patterns sized just right. For this reason, I might want the new Pal to be the same size.

I paid $60 for my Pal (I think that included shipping), and wanted him early so that I could make him clothes before my trip. I thought it would be fun to have my Mickey dressed like the ones that walk around WDW.
I only got a few outfits made.

I still want to do the Garden Grill outfit before I leave in a few weeks, but with another family temporarily living with me, I just don't have the sewing space (the family was supposed to be here only a few months and it is now going on 7 months, oh Well).
I might just figure out how to make some sewing space this weekend.

Having played with my Pal Mickey, only outside of WDW, has been pretty dissapointing. His other features (those that work outside the parks) are just so poorly implemented. I am hoping that I have fun with him inside the parks.

With the cheaper dolls available at the outlets, I am now wondering if WDW will still exchange him if he doesn't work right, when I get to the parks. I don't know if I still have my receipt. I didn't worry about saving it, when people reported having no trouble exchanging the dolls, for any reason, if they did not work correctly.

What patterns did you use? I'd love to make some clothes for ours too?

I made the patterns, and it took a few tries to get them shaped right.
When something came out not right, I would alter the pattern and try again. Eventually I got it right.
However, I think that if you looked at patterns for similar sized stuffed bears, you would have something close to the correct shape, to start with.
Build-a-bear is way too big.

At some point, I will get the patterns in electronic form so that I can share them. When I do get them scanned in, I will probably post them to the discussion group on www.palmickey.net.

Here is a picture of my Pal Mickey in the first outfit that I made for him.
