I went grocery shopping today, (3 stores) and I know that the weather is getting cooler. Its time to put the long pants and sweaters on, but do you think that you can get dressed before you leave the house? I saw no less than 3 young women in their pajamas at the grocery stores today. They were definitely pajama bottoms. I was surprised that they didn't wear their slippers too.

It's crazy. I am with you on this one. That had to add no pajama bottoms and/or slippers to the dress code at our schools.

I've noticed the same thing too. I mean, really, how much effort does it take to put on some "daytime" clothes?

The woman...she is 30...up the street goes out in her pajamas! I have enough trying to understand teenagers but grown women??????? :confused3

mehh, sometimes jammie bottoms are more comfortable. you come home after work, what's the point into changing into pants that you'll only wear for a couple of hours? then you discover you need something at the store....

no big deal to me, as long as it's jammie bottoms and not negligees or something...

It seemed to start about the time I started student teaching. I had NEVER seen people show up to school in PJ bottoms when I was going as a student, but a few years later it was prevalent in the high schools. My roommates, who are about 5 years younger than me, still do it. I can't, just can't handle it personally, but you see it a lot on campus too. I figure it's fine tho, as long as it's not inappropriate. Maybe they want to be on What not to wear. ;)

At the high school where I work I see boys and girls wearing pajama bottoms. I guess it must be ok at that school. But here again from what I can see they don't enforce the dress code or any of the other rules.

Pajama pants don't bother me. They are just pants made out of flannel. They actually look better than some of the stuff I see out there -- like young girls (and adult women) with words on the butts. Now that is disgusting.

I agree with you, I really don't see an issue with is as long as it isn't negligees.

I've seen people at the mall in their pajamas. All I can think is that they're too lazy to dress.

I hate it too. I mean if you want to be comfortable put on sweat pants.

LOL Around here, we consider sweat pants pajamas!! That being said, it doesn't bother me at all. As long as their not negligees like a previous poster said, then I don't have a problem with it.

I think it's odd too. There's a mom that brings her daughter to school each day in her pajama pants. She walks her up and waits in line with her. I don't get what's so tough about pulling on a pair of sweats or something. LAZY!!!!

I went to a Principal's Pride breakfast at my dd school Friday. It's a special treat for one kid out of each class to be honored for being teacher's pet that week -- um no I mean a dilegent hardworking student.

Anyway, there was a father there in pajama bottoms and a thermal shirt. I thought it was kind of inappropriate.

tsk, tsk, tsk .. Dawn, get a grip ...:rotfl: They are pants made out of flannel, no body parts hanging or being exposed, and it's only the grocery store for gawds sake.

Who cares?!:confused3 As long as they aren't in thongs or some other inappropriate outerwear, why does it matter?

It does bug me. We've just become such a nation of laziness. What does it take to put on a pair of pants to go out? Yes I know, what does it matter , they are still covered up but geesh is that what we've come to? Its all ok if nothings hanging out?

Again, its not really the pajama pants thing its just another sign of laziness to me. To do the things with least amount of effort and then rationalize it away.

I know I probably sound like an uptight old lady but I can tell you Im not old and Im not uptight. But well, maybe I just won't brush my hair tomorrow. So go ahead, laugh at me all you want LOL! :)

Where did this idiotic "fashion statement" start? I remember it was an "in" thing for a while, but I'm really hoping it's over with!

I can't even get DS to take the garbage can to the street if he's in PJs. He doesn't want anyone to see him in them...thank goodness! :thumbsup2

I'll admit that the past two days I have gone out in my pajama bottoms. Yesterday was homecoming for my university and my pj bottoms are in my university colors. I wore them with last year's homecoming shirt to go to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua and show my school pride.

Today... I just wasn't feeling well. My only pair of non pajama pants that don't have a zipper and button are very unflattering and show pantylines. I figured at least these look better. If someone thinks I'm lazy, who cares? I wasn't feeling well, and honestly, I'm going to look like a fat cow no matter what I wear, so I can at least be comfortable. It's not something I do a lot, but when I'm not feeling well I don't see the problem with wanting to be at least a little bit comfortable.
