Does anybody know if it is easy to paint stomped ceilings? I hate having blaring white ceilings and would like to paint them. I would like them smooth, but it would take a lot of effort and mess to accomplish that. TIA!

What is it here in the south with stomped, knockdown and popcorn walls and ceilings?

Can you get a Wagner sprayer to do it? I prefer the white ceilings, so they will stay, but I have a feeling one of the popcorn ceilings will be painted. I'll be getting the sprayer for that.

What the heck is a stomped ceiling?
It is a ceiling where the contractors are too cheap to actually pay someone to smooth out the sheetrock on the ceiling. LOL They paint the ceiling white after they sheetrock it and then take a mop and actually "stamp" it. It makes it textured. I just like the smooth ceilings better.

Suzanne ~ Thanks for the idea of the sprayer. My dad has one so I'll check with him.

I was asking my builder if they'd skip the knockdown. I even told them they could just prep the walls and we'd do the rest. Nope, wouldn't do it...it's a pain in the tuchkus. The only bright spot in all of it is that we've found a few 'hidden mickeys' in the knockdown-I'm half temped to paint them the trim color when I paint these rooms!
