Who painted the $28,000 painting of Cindy's Castle that hangs behind the register at The Gallery on Main Street USA. It is stunning.

If it's the one I'm thinking of the artist is Peter Ellenshaw (sp?)

It's the picture that is predominately blue and white. The man working told me the woman that painted it always puts in a hidden Mickey and a cat.

I looked at his website and although very talented the Crystal Palace is not the painting I am referring to. Maybe it is him but as I said I thought it was a woman.

Sorry, I never meant to imply that the Crystal Palace work was the same one as the painting in the MK store. That painting (in the MK) is the original of one in a series of castle lithographs that Randy did for Disney. I just thought people might be interested in seeing some of his other works and learn more about him. My daughter posed with the painting in question so we could show it to Randy.

If you will read more on the web site, you will find that he hides a cat in all his works.

ILUVWDWTOO,

Thanks a bunch. I didn't look far enough. The painting is incredible. Do you know Randy?

I could never afford this painting but it touched me in a way no other painting ever has. When my DH and I were dating 26 years ago we used to go for walks and talk about looking forward to the day we could get married (we were in HS). My mother had just died and we became soul mates. I had a postcard someone had given me of Cindy's Castle and that castle became a pictoral representation of our future to us. It sounds corny I'm sure, but when we looked at it we knew the time would come that we could be together. Well, we graduated from HS, went to college and were married when I was 19 and he was 20. We went to WDW on our honeymoon and have been there many times since. Each time we have gone I have looked for a print or painting of that castle to hang in our home. I have never bought one. None have ever captured the magic of what that castle meant to us until I saw that painting. We were just at WDW for 2 weeks and everytime I went into the MK I stopped and looked at the painting for several minutes. It became a joke with the kids that Mom was going to visit the painting.

If you do know Randy please tell him that he has captured the Magic perfectly. It's where we started and where we have made it to. My husband had pretty much the same reaction. I know nothing of how paintings are reproduced but if he ever allows reproductions of this I will be the first in line.

I was going to suggest it was Peter Ellenshaw. He has done Cinderella's Castle that shows the pumpkin carriage entering the castle.

Is that the one you are referring too?
