We want to paint our dining room. Currently the main part of the house is kind of sage green. Thought I wanted a wedgewood blue- but painted a small swatch and I hated it. I don't want to do a navy- too dark >
The room currently is burgundy/khaki too dark imho. I want to paint the kitchen Yellow(which was originally what I wanted for the dining room)

So now I am thinking a blue of some kind would be a decent option. The furniture is light wood.

Does anyone have a favorite blue they use to paint their home?

DS's room is Hundred Acre Sky (Disney paint), and I love it!! Master bedroom is a deeper, darker more subdued version of it.

Wedgewood blue sounds nice, but you probably have to go up or down in tone from the sage that's there. I would go with a cool blue (as opposed to a greenish blue) in a lighter tone than the sage.

Our office is painted in Linden, by Signature Valspar (or maybe Eddie Bauer?!). It's a pretty blue with green/grey tones to it, but I think it would probably be too dark in a dining room.

I would think a lightish blue with some grey in it would go nicely with sage green.

I just finished painting my office a blue color. It has brown trim with dark wood furniture.

I used seven seas by behr...I LOVE it.

I'm also proud to announce after our discussion many months ago about paint colors that I am now in the process of painting my kitchen and family room. I think it was harder to decide on paint colors than a husband;)

My bathroom is Sherwin Williams- Breezy. Its got a grey tone to it. I like it so much I am thinking of doing my bedroom the same, and I am not normally a fan of blue rooms.

My living room is Palladian Blue (Benjamin Moore). Every one who walks into my house comments on the color. It's really pretty and looks different at different times of day, depending on the light. It has a bit of green in it, so it would probably complement your sage nicely.

Speaking of sage green, do you know that exact name/brand of yours? We're adding a family room onto our house and I was thinking of something in the sage family for the new room.

Blue is a very hard color, and so much depends upon the way the room is lighted. When in search of a color I have never been disappointed by finding a bit of that color somewhere then taking it to Lowes or Home Depot for a color match.

I have a great muted green color in my kitchen and sun porch. It is Tulip Poplar by Porter. This is an old color but if you ask they can still mix it up for you.

My favorite blue/green color is Bali by Benjamin Moore. It is a beautiful soft, peaceful color that looks great with browns. It is not really blue or green just somewhere in between. This color is no longer on their sample chart so you'll have to ask them to mix this also.

Nantucket Fog by Benjamin Moore. My kitchen is this and it is a nice soft grey/blue and I get lots of comments.
You can kind of see it in this pic.

We have a bit of a darker blue in our finished basement. Definitely not navy though. It is called Lost Atlantis by Behr and everyone that sees it loves it :goodvibes Good luck choosing a color. We just redid our bedroom and did our nursery. It's hard choosing a color from a little square swatch!

Thanks for the tips! I love the Nantucket Fog! We actually painted a couple swatches today and Palladium was one of them- it didn't work with my stuff. Actually all the colors seemed to baby room to me. Too pastel. So I like the going grey idea.

I am going to try out Behr's Russian Blue and I may patch the Nantucket Fog too!

I like blue but went green in this house- thought with the yellow in the kitchen and the sage it might work.
Oh and I wish I remembered my sage color name. My painter used Benjamin Moore - and I just picked out a swatch- did a darker version in the great room and a lighter shade(2 shades actually) in the hallway and stairwell(Darker areas)
