I remember the Electrical Parade way back when, and seeing Paint the Night Parade IT'S THE SAME THING. Yes new characters and old characters but its the same thing! The tons of lights in the form of the small balls, the music is the same too somewhat. So why are people getting so upset that Paint the Night is going away and the Electrical Parade is being put in it's place, when THEY ARE THE SAME THING?

Pretty much...

Plus I've seen the Electrical Parade, but we haven't seen Paint the Night. PTN has the characters my kids know and love too. I really wanted to see Mac driving down Main Street.

Yes! I feel like I've seen this post elsewhere tonight. But, it's worth paraphrasing myself again. MSEP is a classic. PtN is a new, flashy, updated, bigger, brighter version of the classic. So they aren't the same thing, but MSEP is PtN's mommy...or grandmother.

They're not at all the same in my book. (But I love that we can all have our different opinions here & all are equally valid!)

I was in Disneyland for 2 days in February before flying to Florida to WDW. I saw PTN both nights and was amazed. I saw the Electrical Parade and left before it was over. They are most decidedly different.

We have seen PTN numerous times and when we were in WDW in March, we saw MSEP (first time for DD) - even though it brought back lots of memories of my younger days, we felt abit let down after seeing PTN. MSEP is a classic but to us, PTN is more vibriant and upbeat.

I love MSEP but they are not even close! PTN is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than MSEP!!!

It seems the local DLR guests are just as upset at having MSEP instead of PTN as we local WDW fans are at losing MSEP. I finally made my first trip to DLR last fall and I did not like PTN. Yes, the technology is impressive, but I prefer the music and characters of MSEP. I wish it was staying here!
