Paint the Night Blue Bayou packages

We did a PTN package with Aladdin's on Thursday, January 14. The viewing area was the elevated area across from IASW. We were instructed to get there a half-hour early but came even earlier because we were tired. We just sat down on the ground behind the railing and then when the parade was about to start got up. It was nice that there was elbow room in that reserved area.

We enjoyed the parade so much that we came back the next night. We ended up camping out for an hour and a half behind a bench on Main Street (benches and curbs were already long since taken, so far as we saw, and people were already lining up in second rows that early). We wanted to head back to Tomorrowland after parade and fireworks so tried to stay in that area. People really pressed in behind us before the show started. It seemed super crowded compared to the night before (part of which probably was Friday vs. Thursday, and part because we were a little spoiled from having the reserved area the night before).

After the parade what happened? Were you able to watch the fireworks from the same spot or did you have to move to another area?

Have not done the PTN dining area yet, however we have viewed the parade and then the fireworks from Main Street several times. Everyone seated/standing on the curb/sidewalk filters into the street at the end of the parade to watch the fireworks. The best view is from the street rather than the sidewalk. It's probably best to head towards the hub a bit as well. This way you're seeing the castle special effects as well as the projections and effects on the Main Street buildings.

We didn't stay for the fireworks, but we were not told that we would have to move. The castle view was blocked, but I understand they also do projections on the IASW buildings.

Thanks. I have heard the fireworks are viewable now from many different areas so hopefully we see them a few times.

Sophy1996, did you see any wheelchairs in that area? My daughter is in a wheelchair, and I am debating whether it is worth it for us to do a reserved spot. If anyone stands in front of her, even if they are on the level below her, it can block her view. Thanks for any insight on this.

The package has a set price. Appetizer, entree, and dessert (and a beverage) for $62 per adult. Yikes.

They do take AP discounts though, so that was nice.

We didn't originally order anything to drink so they brought us 20oz Dasani bottles to take away. Then DH ordered a coffee. :)

Is it a different menu entirely for this one?

Seemed to be the same menu as the normal one. They were a little confused when we were seated and gave us the normal one, and asked IF we wanted the PTN one. I think the package one just spells it out more that you get the app, entree, and dessert. I saw nothing to indicate beverage but we did get that included.

Ah - excellent - thanks!!!

Any chance you know a decent fireworks viewing spot if you only get there 10min before? We have a 7:30 Blue Bayou reservation so figure we won't be out until maybe 8:30 and fireworks are at 8:40 (earlier than I thought they'd be when I booked)!!

I watch the parade from the raised IASW location...it is my go to spot. Before the fireworks, you are going to want to go into the street in order to get a good view of IASW and the Matterhorn.

Good point - worth a try!! I guess we'll have to content ourselves with as close as we can get to the general hub area... ... Not counting on anything extraordinary! :)

I did not see any wheelchairs in the area. We entered by going up some stairs, but I assume it is accessible (if I recall correctly, it is where they were doing meet-and-greets with Merida from Brave during our last Disneyland trip, so surely it is accessible?).

Thanks. Yes, it is accessible by going up a ramp closer to Matterhorn. :)

We had a 6:20 reservation, and the parade was at 8:00. We went right from dinner to the seating area, and got the last curb seat at about 7:30 ish. As soon as the parade was over, we stepped out into the middle of the street (and moved up a bit) for the fireworks. Totally easy.

Oh, this is great! We have a 6:20 reservation and I was worried we would be cutting it too close. I'd love to get a curb seat, but I suppose if we have to stand it will work out. There are just 2 of us, so we can eat pretty promptly

So now I just need to wait and see what the weather is going to be like. I have reservations for both nights we are there and want to pick the one that has the best chance of no rain!

One other question -- did they automatically give you tickets for that showing or did you have to ask?

There was only one showing the night we went. ;-)

They deliver the fastpasses with your receipt. I'm sure you could ask for whatever show you wanted.
