Ok folks... I'm painting the inside of my small house this color

edit **Well shoot it didnt work... it's Aqua Chintz by Glidden** kind of a Tiffany bluish green.

on the bottom... stark white chair rail and then like an icy white on top... this is going to be 75% of the house spare the bedrooms and the kitchen... with white, silver and dark brown accents... the whole house has dark brown hardwood floors. My problem is going to be our room...

Our bed is White beadboard with a pine accent... I can change the pine to dark but I cant figure out for the life of me what to paint our room without totally clashing witht the rest of the house...

Any ideas?

No advice, just good wishes!! I need to paint the 3 bedrooms soon. The kids want to help! Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing! My son wanted neon green with dark blue trim! AHHH!! The girls....what else...DARK PURPLE! Oh, I can hear the fights! Hey...maybe I can send the kids to you and they can help YOU! ;)

Ohhh man AQ... LOL sounds like me when I was younger I wanted Orange and Pink...(someday I'll get to paint a room those 2 colors) I also wanted black... my Mom let me paint some of my room black (cow spots) but I still owe her a paint job on that room...

DS wants a outer space room...... talk about clashing with the house... but who cares.. you only live once :)

I’d say don’t paint any room the exact same color/pattern as another.

Prolly depends on the layout of your house.

Try to “bring” some color dominate in one room, say maybe furniture cloth color, carpet/area rug color, wall decoration color, slightly into another room in the house.

This way each room has individual characteristics yet blends/flows with other rooms in the house.

Then again, I have no clue. :D

Good Luck!

Quite the challenge you're presented with. I painted and tiled my townhouse last year and did every single room a different tile and paint color. When I explain the different colors, no one can even visualize it and then people walk in and they think it looks great. So I think I may be *qualified* to help you here. :D

Majority of house: Tiffany green/blue (sounds gorgeous!)
Floors: Dark wood
Accents: while/silver/dark brown

My suggestions for your bedroom paint color:
Very light grey/silver color
White (but I'm kind of assuming it's already white)
Light peach (with the right shade, it'll look really pretty) Lowe's has a "Woodrow Wilson Blush" color that I'm thinking of...
And the only other thing that could work would be either a deeper or lighter tone of the Tiffany color you're using

Headboard:
I wouldn't change your headboard. The pine color sounds like it would accent real nicely with the dark wood floor and the Tiffany color.

Another idea to bring in accent colors into your room - if you so desire - would be you could change the hardware on your bedroom furniture - like new drawer knobs on your chest of drawers. Just an idea. :D

Hope that helps a little!

I love color on walls! That's what I do for a living.
I am only familiar with Benjamin Moore paint colors though. If I were you I would look at Benjamin Moore Color Chart Linen White. It would go nicely with your white and pine bed set and won't clash with the rest of the house. Another color that comes to mind would be vanilla ice cream (Benjamin Moore).
You can also go with any color you want in each room if they are separate from any other room.
The colors I have are in different rooms are.... sunshine yellow, a pastel blue, a very bold pink, a manly green(for DH) and so on. But it all ties together with the neutral living room, kitchen and hallways that are painted Linen White.
I hope this isn't too confusing for you....it's hard to explain without actually seeing how nicely it all ties in.

Although I'm a painter, I pretty much just put on what the customer tells me to so I can't offer any advice either Meagan. . but good luck with the project, and if you do the "space" thing post a pic of it; sounds interesting! :) :)
