Paint Brushes??

I read about the paint brushes....

I went to the Island on the first raft.... we looked for over an hour and found nothing....


are they still doing this?


How hard are they to find??

Are they "crazy hidden?"

I was wondering this myself i have been to dw many many times seeing we live in florida. I havent been to tom sawyers island since i was a kid ( you mean i had to grow up )>? Anyways i found this little piece interesting as it tells you about the island . It also talks about finding the paintbrush!. We will be going May 22nd and i will let you know anything we find out if your interested.. here is the link..

yes very true but DD is the baby of 5 kids so Daddy always has company on the rides.. I went on test track last year because smallest daughter begged me to go OMG ok wasent really scary but that last part at the end holy cow..all the time middle DD was screaming YEAHH ya hooo and smallest daughter was starting to cry So all thru the ride ya kept hearing me say rebekah Shut UP.. rebe shut Up.. jay shut her the heck up already.. yeah ok i was scared too there was a dear older man in the seat next to us who kept telling us what was going to happen next. It was very sweet and he kept patting DD little leg like a grandpa would do.I dont think I could do Splash Mountain but i had a bad exsperiance with my brother pushing me when we delivered newspapers on the 5th floor of an apartment building.. he pushed me i hit the rail flung myself half over it and i saw the ground. he had to drag me back over.. ever since I been fighting the fear ( sorry a bit off topic.. now with confession maybe I can heal?? Only 2 weeks to go.. I will let you know if i was brave or not.. bawwk bawwk !!

I have never heard of someone actually finding the brush... It makes me think that its an "urban legend" to draw more folks over to the island. I would love to know the truth about this one.... DW and myself were discussing it this past month while on the river boat...

We found 5 in total, but you only need 1 to get you fastpass, infact you will only get 1 even if you all the paint brushes!

when i got in 2 weeks i am looking for paint brushes Yep that will be me the crazy women in the mickey shirt searching crevaces etc to find one.. now if someone could give me a hint as where to look and find one.. HUmmm .. Do they keep putting them in the same places or diffrent. are they standard size paintbrushes . what am i looking for ?? god if i stick my hand in a crevace and feel something slimey it had BETTER be a pint brush !! its fun to read what people are wrighting on this thread though .this should be fun. like a big scavanger hunt

They are very well hidden. They are the 3" wide paint brushes and they are all a different color. The one we found was orange and had white paint on the bristles. We saw another family with a teal one.

The first time we went we didn't find one, but it was OK because our boat back from TSI was chosen for YOMD fast passes

We went another day and found the paint brush and again our boat was chosen for YOMD fast passes. The dream team says it is totally random yet I wonder....(same time of day as last time....hmmmm...)

Anyways happy hunting. and go early! The first boat leaves at 10 am for the island.

You get a FP for one ride of your choice in the MK for your whole party.
The paint brushes are there untill they are found, we found ours in the afternoon.

We found one! I dragged my family with to the island, with the intent of finding one. We toured the island, and on the walk back to catch the boat, I spotted one attached to a building (via a magnet). A CM was sort of lurking nearby. Anyway, I alerted my DD to it, and she walked over and picked it up. I had no idea what "prize" we'd receive. It was a lot of fun! We were there in the afternoon, and I kind of felt that the CM may have just placed it there? Where else have people found the paint brushes? At first, I was looking in all of the vegetation, thinking they would try to hide them there.

It's TRUE. They do hide them. We just got back from Disney and we found a paint brush. My family and my best friends family were on the first boat across. I think the boats start about 10:00am. We frantically searched the island for the brush. After about an hour we were going back to the boat because we still had so much to see and do at MK. As my best friend and I were rounding everyone up to leave, her husband came around the corner and pulled the brush out of his pocket and said, "Is this what ya'll were looking for?" We were sooooooo excited that he found it. We were jumping around more than the kids. We showed it to the cast member and when we arrived back at the landing, we were given a free fastpass for our group to either the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Splash Mountain. Yoo Hoo
