Paint brushes on Tom Sawyer's Island?

So last trip we decided to go try and find a paint brush, my mom had heard about them. At rope drop we ran straight for the raft to TSI. We were on the first raft over and immedietly started looking for the paint brushes.

After an hour we gave up, sweaty and tired.

HOW HARD ARE THEY HIDDEN!?

And do they hide them everyday?

If you go over to allears.net they have a blog about Tom Sawyer's Island. They do mention briefly how to look for these paintbrushes. They mention that there are 4-6 paintbrushes that are hidden each morning in obvious places. So best bet is to make sure you are the first to get to the Island (which you did) and just keep looking for them. It may of been that some one (or some family) found the paintbrushes before you did. My 2 DDs both are determined to go straight for TSI on our upcoming trip because they too want to look for them.

1- They're generally placed in plain sight. (They want kids ot be able to find them.)

2- Nope, but they usually do.
However, sometimes the guests will have stolen the brushes. (!)
Sometimes the CM's just don't do it.
You need to ask the pilot of the raft that morning if they have done so.

It generally is only a factor to the first troupe of guests to arrive at the island in the morning.

And, since at 10AM, most guests are attempting to ride one of the "headliner" attractions (or Dumbo )
and, many never even go over to TSI, it's not really a "general knowledge" kind of thing.

The last 2 years we have been on the first raft over and we have found one each time - they are in plain sight.

A (one-time) FP good for your entire group.

Sometimes it is for either Splash or Big Thunder.
Sometimes it is good for any MK FP attraction of your choice.

My family went to Magic Kingdom to use our Give A Day tickets and we went over to Tom Sawyer's Island for the first time. We have been in the park before, but never made it there, so we did it this time. While on the little raft, we asked the CM if any paint brushes were still hidden and he said three. My family broke up in teams of two and hunted for the brushes. We saw a bench with some dried leaves on it and a handle sticking out. It was one of the paint brushes. There was a note laminated to it saying that it was one of Tom's brushes and to turn it in to a CM. It also said, one per family. It wasn't hard to find it, but I think people make it hard searching.

We turned in our paint brush and the CM rewarded us with fastpasses for several of the rides. It was so much fun. We didn't go to the island right away either, instead we rode most of the rides first on our list. I will say it was a lot of fun. Good luck searching for your paintbrush!

This is great! I'm putting together a book on disney park stories from individuals. I'd like to include your story of finding the paintbrush on Tom Sawyer island. That's a fun thing that I don't think many people knew ever happened. I'm not looking for anything long. Like 2-3 paragraphs. If you're interested, please let me know!

BTW, they don't do the paint brushes any more.
