Painful white lump on my tongue

OK yesturday my tongue really started hurting on the right side , way back almost under my tongue. I felt it and could feel a pea size bump. I didn't look in the mirror figured it would go away. My throat kind of hurt and does my ear on that side of my head.

Well its still there and it still hurts, so I went to the mirror and looked which took a lot of manuvering to get a decent look. And it is a white spot, not very big (I'll add some pictures if anyone needs a visual )

My question is this, is this something you'd go see a doctor about? Or should I give it a couple more days and see if it doesn't go away on its own? We really don't have the money to see a doctor right now, I thought maybe someone on here had experienced the same thing.

I looked into soome stuff online and for cancer, normally its not very painful and the majority of people with it are heavy smokers/drinkers..I'm neither and they also say it rarely occurs under 40..I'm only 28. So I'm pretty sure I'm safe from anything like that.

Well people i want to know wat that white bump is cuz im freaking 15 and i have never seem them before and i got 4 in the back my tongue 2 on each side and the 2 pair are close together

Yes, that's a tongue canker sore. I get them quite often. The canker sores on the inside of your cheek or lips are usually depressed but the ones I get on my tongue are usually raised like yours.

I have had them also, the exact same thing! but have not gotten one in years...(if I get one now...your fault!!) lol

They are painful, just do some hot water and salt gargles... and just hope it leaves soon!
