Im stuck at an Anaheim hotel for a boring work meeting. Didn't realize how close it would be to the parks! And I can't even go afterwards because it's my dad's birthday! Soooo painful!

I've been to the convention center a couple times and didn't go to DL (Fall of 2007 and 2010). It was very weird. The second time, I did walk up to walk through DTD though, so it was nice to see the entrance and stores at least.

That just ain't right! You can't be that close and not go inside! Impossible! ;)

I would find a way. The park is open until midnight!! Also, you can get a Dole Whip from the Coffee House at the DLH. They are only open until about 6pm I think. Maybe pop over there on your lunch break?

My wife shares your pain. Traveling to Anaheim area often for business and staying at one of the hotels two blocks from DL is tough. She tries to have dinner every night in DTD or at least walk thru it. Hearing all the SOUNDS of DL and not being in it is rough. The worst part is the fireworks. According to my wife, viewing the fireworks display from anywhere but main street, is just wrong:sad2:.

I drive up quite often for work conferences. The sucky thing is I am a SoCal Select AP and a lot of the conferences are on blackout days :(. I still sometimes walk through DTD or one of the hotels/gift shops to soak in the vibe.

Booo! Sorry! You creep over for a quick churro or something??

I hear that you have a sudden headache and the only cure is a Dole Whip...

Maybe pop over there on your lunch break?

I actually realized I didn't even have my pass with me (I kept it in my park bag) or else I totally would have done that! I actually ended up leaving the meeting slightly early and all my co-workers were like-you're heading to Disney right?

Take your dad and celebrate his birthday there!

Now, that's a good idea!

Haha! I actually did give him a Disney gift - his choice between I pay for a day ticket for him, or he covers his ticket and I pay for Walk in Walt's Footsteps for the two of us! He's trying to decide but leaning towards the tour. Maybe we'll have the whole family come and they'll do other stuff in the parks while we're on the tour.

Tie your AP into the app and you don't need it for entrance.

I feel your pain. I visit a cousin with whom I am very close for a week a couple of times a year. She lives about 20 mins away. She is SOOOO not into Disney so I'd never be able to talk her into spending a day (or 5) there.

I actually feel a physical pull in the direction of DL when I'm at her house!
