I don't think this is the same thing you are thinking of, but I belong to MyPoints and E-Rewards. They email me surveys. You don't get paid cash or anything like that, but you can earn points to buy things like gift cards to restaurants, magazine subscriptions, etc through their sites. It takes awhile to add up to be able to redeem (I haven't done it yet).
MyPoints, Harris, NPDOR/Sweepland, and Lightspeed are really good ones. E-rewards is OK, but I use it mainly for Hilton points and you are limited on how many points you can roll over - the rest of the rewards aren't that interesting to me. I used to like Sunshine Rewards (really nice people!), but I can't qualify for anything there any more so it has become a waste of time for me.
I belong to one. My experience is pretty decent, though I've sort of lost interest because the last time I cashed in some points to get a check, I never got the check. That was nearly a year ago and just about three weeks ago I get an email from them saying that they were unable to send my check Why did that response take so long?
But anyway, other than that, I would say my experience has been pretty positive.
I have done surveyspot.com and treasuretrooper.com. Both experiences were good, they paid me the cash that was promised via check in the mail. I think I made about $20 from each site in about 6 months... doing surveys VERY part time (like an hour every other week or less). Both sites share your email address with anyone who wants it, so be sure you open a new account and use it only for them (so you don't get a bunch of spam in your real email account ) With surveyspot, I did on occasion claim to be doing things that I was not doing (like remodeling my bathroom!... hey, I might do that some day lol).
If you have any other questions, I would be happy to answer them
I think the "paid" ones are a rip off. I signed up for one that gives me points for prizes. I hate it. It floods my inbox and the surveys are waayyy too long ha ha. It takes too long to earn points too, so I gave up on it.
ETA: My post sounded kinda negative lol. It was not meant in a harsh way. I just didn't care for it all that much myself, but I am very lazy when it comes to stuff like that.
The best one I've come across is Pinecone Research. They pay you $3.00 an ad. You can't just join though, you have to find their "ad" & sign up through that. If anyone interested, just PM & I can show you where to find ad
I usually just participate with AOL. They usually offer one or two or maybe even three a month. They credit my credit card account, but that is an option. AOL can also pay your pal account if you prefer.
You won't get rich off of those things at all. For AOL, it's only a few dollars a survey.

I've been doing Pinecone for several years now (I get $5 per survey). Two unfortunate things, though: The older I get, the fewer surveys they send me. I think I am out of most manufacturers "target audience" range. Also, last week they sent a survey asking opinions about changing their payments to cash drawings instead of $5 payments. I am not at all interested in that!
After several months on Pinecone I decided to stop doing them..They just keep getting longer and longer and for 3 bucks for 15-20min of my time, its NOT worth it!
