does the PIF date vary by castaway level? I always see that the PIF date is 75 days out ( non- concierge) but I always seem to have to pay earlier. I am hoping to score a better room for our upcoming cruise and assuming and 75 days is approaching

No, but those with higher castaway club levels have to be PIF prior to booking excursions/spa appts/adult dining/etc.

It does vary. I think international and holiday cruises are more like 90 or 120 out. It has gone further out over the last year.

My husband was told that as of Jan 1, the PIF date is now 100 days out. We too were confused when looking at different cruises. We are looking to book one for April and the PIF would be end of January. At this point we've just got to save the entire amount and pay it all when we book.

No, the PIF date does not vary by CC level. It does vary, however, depending on the ititnerary. For example, the European cruises have a 120 day PIF date.

Excursion booking windows have different dates, depending on your CC level.

It's quite possible for you to be able to book excursions earlier than your PIF date, but you won't be able to unless you're PIF. You'd need to PIF early, in that case.

PIF date and excursion booking window dates are two different things.

Thanks all helpful. I assume then if my PIF date has passed so has everyone else's on my cruise. I am just going to keep checking every day to see if a better room comes available. Our room isn't bad, I just would like a little better

Have you called? We were in a similar situation and eventually called and they were able to switch us to a room that was not showing up for me when I looked online. This may just be that I did not know what I was doing but worth a try!

I haven't called. I guess I could have my travel agent call and get me a list of rooms in the categories I am interested in and see if they match what it says online. I hate the new website not as user friendly as the old one or maybe I am just not used to it.

Another reason for pif date to be early is if your TA is costcotravel.com. They have you pay early.
