Paid for my room today!! and POR?

First- Yay!!!! I paid for our room in full today! Now all I have to do is save for some food and mad money! I can't believe I've been able to pull this off so far, Mike(DH) and the kids still don't have a clue- hehehehe.

I can't decide between the mansions or the bayou rooms but I know that the most important thing is a view of something other then a parking lot and close to the main pool. So, do you think I should just request that? Then just leave it up to them to decide mansions or bayou? Do you think I'll have a better chance that way? Any thoughts or suggestions, please!

I'm sorry to keep bugging ya'll it's just that since this is a surprise I have no one to share my thoughts with- thanks for putting up with me!

The difference between the mansions and bayou is in the theme. It depends what you are looking for and what you like. AB is like being down in the deep south. Lots of greenery, bushes, etc. More like being in the bayou area rather than on manicured grounds. The mansions are like being in the south on a plantation...very manicured grounds. Things are sculpted and everything in its place.

The rooms are the same size but the furniture, colors and themes are different. AB is log furniture and more rustic. I have heard mansions are more "elegant" type of decor. Perhaps someone might be able to add more. There are pics on this site that could help.

If you have 4 then you will fit in either place. If you have 5 then you will be in the AB section as there is a trundle bed there for little children.

If you do not want a parking lot view then you need to state that as a request. Some of the rooms do face the parking lot. If you want to be close to a pool and food court state that, also. Keep in mind that there are six quiet pools at POR plus Ole Man Island so if it is the main pool be sure to request that. Just keep in mind that the requests aren't guaranteed. That way you won't be disappointed when you check in. But, then again, how can anyone not feel the magic at Walt Disney World. Have fun!
