Holy crap! Glad you are doing better!!!

I had to :teeth: when I read this reply, because it was exactly what I said to myself reading your OP!

Give Nicole a hug, too...I can only imagine the rollercoaster she was on as well. How scary...I am so glad it's manageable though.

Holy mackrel! I'm glad you are ok, but goodness! How about just getting a cold next time!

Bob, glad you are alright, and have a great family doctor who knew what to do! ;) :thumbsup2 Take care of yourself!!!

Sounds like you have a wonderful medical team who is really on the ball. Here's to continued recovery!

They were the best :thumbsup2 My primary doc has always been on the ball -- he's the reason DW was so quickly diagnosed with Hodgkin's a couple years ago. :thumbsup2

He told us, though, that since our family can't seem to have "normal" illnesses, the next time one of us calls his office, he's sending us directly to the hospital. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Holy cow! Thank goodness you'll be OK. What a way to spend a holiday weekend. Are you able to return to work, or do you needs some days at home for more recovery and the shots?

My doctor would prefer I stay home the rest of this week. I can do some work stuff from home, but in general, I'm just planning on resting. I'm limited on how much I can lift with my right arm (5 pounds for now), so it's a bit of a change around the house too, especially with my linebacker-to-be 22 pound 9 month old. :teeth:

I'm so sorry this happened to you! What an ordeal for you and your family to go through. I'm glad to hear things are going well now! Take care. :grouphug:

I'm sure you're not looking forward to the surgery, but I think you have a great attitude and perspective--did you get that from your wife? ;) :)

Yep :teeth: :teeth: I owe everything to my wife. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Steve! Wow! What an experience!

I'm sure they told you no aspirin and to be extra careful around anything sharp, so I don't have to say it. ;)

Good luck on your upcoming surgery too. :)

Oh my goodness how scary! I'm glad you are doing well now :grouphug:

OMG - so sorry, how scary! What an emotional rollover coaster it must have been for you and your family! Glad to hear your dr was up to speed and thankfully the meds are working. Pls. do what it takes to stay healthy for that pretty wife and adorable sons. Take care and best wishes on your upcoming surgery. Godspeed ^i^

Whew! Scary, isn't it? Had a similar experience with DVTs.

The shots aren't so bad, once you get used to them. It's easier to regulate Lovinox and Heparin, coumadin seems to take much longer to get the dosage right. Yep, had them all.

Vitamin K is a natural coagulant, and your doctor may ask you to monitor your intake of leafy greens. I was sent home from the hospital with orders from the nurses for NO leafy greens and my prothrombin times got way too high (60 seconds). I complained to my doc and he said have it, but not too much.

Good luck with the surgery. Glad you caught this early.

Wow, I've never heard of this condition before. I'm glad they were able to quickly diagnosis it, and working on getting it under control. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Wow! I am glad that this was all taken care of so quickly.

I too am looking to have the same type of surgery done, but to my left arm. I should know if I need it after a couple more months of phiscal therapy. May be a thought to see if PT might help prevent the surgery.
