for a family of 5 for 14 days....

where do I draw the line....
i could keep packing and packing...

Guess that depends on whether or not you'll have access to a washer and dryer. Assuming you do, I'd only pack enough for 3 or 4 days for each person. 1 pr of long pants/jeans and a sweatshirt/jacket in case it gets cool in the evening. Don't forget your swimsuits!!

Would increase it to 5-7 days worth of clothes. I always wash clothes when we are on an extended vacation like that.

And make sure your outfits can be mixed and matched with each other to give a variety. When you have everything layed out, go through it again to make sure you really need to bring it or can you leave it at home. Good luck!

Funny, I am the same way with packing. And it usually ends up my husband who ends up with the most clothes and he usually wears a select few things when washer and dryers are available! :rotfl:

I'm interested in the answer to this too. We are going in September......5 of us, 2 adults and 3 kids, for 14 days. After lugging 9 suitcases to Hawaii last year I swore I would never do it again. We did carry-on only for a week down to San Diego in November and I swear its the way to go. We are staying in the DVC 2-bedroom unit for all but 2 of the days so we'll have an in room washer/dryer so I plan to take as little as possible! I'm aiming for carry-ons only......we'll see!

I guess I would pack for as many days as I could without having more than 3 suitcases. I hate doing laundry on vacation, but I've also never been gone for that many days in a row. Have a good one! princess: princess: How old are the kids? Old enough to help with luggage?

Don't forget that jeans can be worn more than once as can sweat shirts. T-shirts can be washed out in the sink and dried over night. You will also want to buy a few new things there as well. We go winter when the weather in different every day and it took us a while to learn to not over pack!!!

Use ziplocs and roll to save room and to keep from over packing. I was a complusive overpacker till I started using ziplocs and could see the days I had packed and then stopped.
