Packing your Ears

Looking for ideas on the best way to pack Mouse Ears for travel in my luggage. They are too wide to fit in a gallon zipper bag, but I don’t really want them to be loose in my suitcase. I’m afraid they are going to get bent, broken or de-blinged.

One time I wrapped them in tissue paper and put them in my carry on, but I lost a lot of glitter. Now I wrap them in tissue paper and put them in a big shoebox or USPS box, then put that in my hardside luggage. I'm a crazy person apparently haha. I'm sure that there is a more efficient method, but that works for me.

Not SUPER helpful but... DH and I wore our Wedding ears to the Airport, on the plane and into WDW. We probably looked like attention seekers but honestly I just didn't want to have to try to figure out how to pack'em.

A soft bubble lined post office manila envelope would probably do the job. Don't have one? Wrap the ears in a t shirt, then over wrap with some sturdy material clothing item like jeans.

I have over 20 pairs, both from Disney and from small shops: sequined, glittered, you name it. I used to be more careful with them, but now they just end up tossed in the suitcase. I do put them between layers of clothes most of the time. They are surprisingly resilient.

I wrap them in bubble wrap and each one goes in a 2 gallon size ziplock bag. Then they go in my carry on.

My backpack has a padded laptop sleeve and I put them in there!

Similar method here - I bring my laptop on each trip and there's a separate section of the laptop bag (I assume intended for documents, a book or two, etc) where I store the mouse ears on each trip and they are always safe as I already handle the laptop bag with care.

Packing cubes! They are amazing for packing in general but especially for special items I want to keep extra safe

Wear them and start celebrating early. If your on a flight to Orlando you wont get a second look.

We used plastic containers to pack ours. Just cheap ones from Walmart. Contained any sort of glitter and bling and was strong enough to survive the flight in checked luggage.

I always pack them in the middle of my suitcase, padded on each side by clothes. Never have had an issue.

Although, mine are the official Disney sequined versions without any shedding glitter or anything.

LOL put them in a plastic grocery bag and threw them in the suitcase.

I use a plastic craft storage bin from Michael's. It's thin enough not to take up a ton of space and I can fit at least 5 pairs of ears in it. My ears are on the thinner side though.

Same. I think mine’s actually made for scrapbooking paper - it’s roughly 12x12x2. Works great!

When my son was little and we used to bring a car seat, I would buckle all our hats into his car seat, then put the car seat into a travel bag. Worked brilliantly. Now that he's 9 and we don't have his car seat anymore I have found myself bringing far fewer hats!
