packing your camera / camcorder

Should i pack my camera and camcorder in my hand luggage or in one of the suitcases ?

It's best to put all valuables like cameras and camcorders in your hand luggage.

Definately hand luggage, especially now they want you to leave cases unlocked!!!

I always put mine in hand luggage.Then it seemed most people just put them in packed luggage,much better than lugging them about so I have been doing that.

But now I guess it would be back to hand luggage

We always use our camcorder on the plane. and none of the cabin crew has told us not to.
I know it sounds boring but i film us flying over and coming into land at florida.. anyone else do this ? I actually got New York on film flying back home last time.
