Packing warning-beware of dollar store imitations!

Thanks for sharing. Hopefully the contents stayed in the plastic bag that you had the bottle in. (Smart tip, btw, about the plastic bag.)
I use the little plastic thingies that film comes in for a lot of stuff, they seem tight and I am not sure I would put liquid in them.

I was always very lax about putting just about anything in my luggage, I was always looking for ways to save space. Since all of the new travel restrictions I have been rethinking my ideas.. i have decided to be more careful about removing items from the original containers especially medicines etc. I would hate to be delayed because I can't explain what is in a bottle. I know it would be just as easy to remove the original contents and replace them with something inappropriate. We also used to make small baggies of laundry soap and bring them, but I would think that would be especially wrong now.

I doubt security would have a problem with laundry soap. It usually has a very distinctive odor.

Instead of powder detergent, pack the tablets, they are individually wrapped and clearly say Tide on them...no worry about spillage either, I love them for trips. You can also buy most toiletry items in sample sizes so they are marked as to what they are as well. Friends of ours are shipping their luggage via UPS...I don't think we'll go that far.

I have never been able to use Tide because it affects my skin adversely. So, I was really glad to find that at Kmart they had Wisk tablets!! They work Great removing stains! Rub the tablet on the stain, and Launder. Walla it's Clean!

Here's another thought. I think most of us would agree that we bring home much more than we take down with us. In order to keep a nice balance, I try to bring down "half empties". Instead of buying things like shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, etc. just for the trip, I bring down the partially used toiletries I have and just throw away whatever is not used. The travel sizes just aren't big enough for a week at Disney.

I purposely request for samples from those free sites on the internet , plus call companies to ask for this and that. I save all of those little packets of shampoo , lotion, medications , toothpaste....etc... and use them on my trips. They take up little room, free, throw em out when you're done with them! Less mess that way too! I also bring small bottles of lotion with as the soaps in hotels and restrooms seem very drying to my skin.
DON"T FORGET SUNSCREEN ...big bottle of that!! And first aid supplies espicailly for sunburns and blisters. :(
I heard of a good tip to prevent blisters-- spraythe bottoms of your feet with spray type
anti- perspirant ----- feels weird-- ----sounds weird ----
but I never got a blister when we did this! I think it's an Army trick for basic training??
It works!

They have nice little clear plastic bottles with very tight lids, usually for ~ $.70 each; I think hairdressers use them for mixing dye. Anyway, they are just perfect for travelling; about 2X the size of a typical drugstore sample size. I use them for things like chlorine removal shampoo, and dishwashing liquid; also sunscreen, if you use liquid.

i too pack the half empties(although between the four of us in two weeks we can use up
a full bottle of shampoo sometimes!) and i double wrap them in baggies or ziplocs. very handy!
then i always take along baggies for dirty undies/socks etc so luggage doesnt get smelly.
also wrap sneaks if i am packing them(tho i prefer to wear sneaks/pack sandals in a duffel!)
more comfortable to travel in sneaks!(bag the fashion!) always pack the disks of laundry
soap, really convenient for the condo washer/dryers. I pack in a bag that will fit above my
seat for a two week stay(though i have the option of using a washer, so that helps!) lots
less packing! anyone roll up their shirts etc for extra space and fewer wrinkles?
