Packing up tonight to go home and I discovered I lost ...

... our video camera.

I'm heartbroken. Luckily it wasn't my good DSLR but it was a Sony Handycam so it wasn't cheap. I can't afford to replace it right now and of course I wanted all That footage of our trip!

I remember the last place I used it but that was a good 6 hours before I discovered it missing. I am pretty sure it fell out of my bag as opposed to it being stolen because I (stupidly) wasn't always putting it away properly (so I could get it out quickly).

The first frame on the camera has my contact info. I just pray someone was honest enough to bring it to lost and found of they will contact me directly.

We have a very small window to get to Lost and Found tomorrow morning before our flight. Cross your fingers for us!

In the meantime, cheer me up and tell me stories about how you found things you lost at DL!

Bummer! I hope you find it! I like the idea of contact info.....I just bought a decent point and shoot specifically for our Trip so i have something easy to store on my smaller than my DSLR - That and my gopro

I remember when something similar happened to me. We were staying at a resort in WDW, and I put the video camera down to unlock the door to our room. I went in with my family, remembered the camera, went out, and it was gone

On the other hand, I one time left my bag on a bench at the Partner's Statue. I went to Lost and Found, and someone did eventually turn it in with everything intact. I was so grateful.

I hope you find it ,if you can go to lost and found at DL left of the gates on the outside, I lost my phone and my park ticket both on the same day at different times. The tickets had been handed into city hall , phew. The phone I thought was gone for good. A week later it arrived in the post. Of course that was after I bought anew one. �� They will take a full report and get as much info as possible so it can be returned to you if handed in..

I'm so sorry, that just makes my heart sink for you. I once lost a cell phone. When I discovered it missing I knew exactly what I had done, I set it on top of the fast pass machine by splash when I was getting passes. We went to lost and found but no luck. On our way home, two days later, they called us from lost and found and said they had the phone. I couldn't believe it as it was a new IPhone (they had just come out). Still kind of can't believe someone just didn't take it but boy was I grateful. In talking with the CM, she said that they almost always find what people lose, someone usually turns it in.

I'm gonna cross my fingers for you and hope that some great person finds it and takes it to lost and found .....

I'm so sorry that you lost your camera :-( Hopefully it is waiting at lost and found for you this morning!
I don't have any missing item stories to share. But, I have turned in lost and found items myself and seen other people doing the same. I think there are lots of great people at Disneyland and you will get your camera back!

We left our camera bag on our stroller while we went in the tiki room. With all the pictures from my dds entire life I had never doenloaded and the video camera. We came out and it was gone. I had my address and phone number an there was a message on my phone saying where to pick it up. Apparently some really nice person noticed we had left it and took it to lose and found so nobody would steal it. Thank goodness!

Even if they don't find it today they can mail it to you if it turns up later. Hopefully a CM found it as I'm sure this sort of thing happens frequently, and it hasn't made its way up to lost and found yet.

My son lost one of his shoes once. They didn't have it at lost and found, but they found it later in the week and mailed it to us.

Sometimes when people find things they turn them into shops or restaurants, which then have to deliver it to guest services, and then to a central lost and found place. It sometimes takes a few days to get them to their owner but I hope it turns up!

I too lost a brand new phone at DL - fell out of my bag on a ride and I went to lost and found and they assured me that it will show up eventually. I was convinced it wouldn't but sure enough, a few days later I got a phone call that they had it. I was amazed!

Hope your video camera shows up but like a previous poster said, it may take a few days. They will mail it to you though, so don't give up hope if they don't have it by the time you leave.

Our camera bag was on our stroller and the stroller got moved (presumably by a CM, as it wasn't in an official designated stroller spot) and I didn't notice until later that it was missing. Fortunately the bag had been put on someone else's stroller, they called us that night and were able to deliver it to lost and found, where I recovered it the next day. We had put stickers with cell numbers on the camera, the camcorder, and the bag, as well as our cell phones.

I was a little bit steamed about the CM moving the stroller and then putting the bag back on the wrong stroller, but so relieved at getting it back that I figured no harm done. Since we had left our stroller next to another one I hadn't realized that it wasn't in stroller parking to begin with but from then on I was a lot more careful with where the stroller was and kept the bag with me!

And maybe the person who found it may not think to turn it in but will think about posting something from it (some stills) on the website that is out there-and of course I can't think of the name right now-where people post images from cameras that they've found in an effort to reunite them with their owners.

We got home last night and I've been obsessively checking my email in case someone who found it didn't turn it in but will email me (because I put my email address on the first image of the hard drive and the memory card). Nothing yet. And no call from Disney Lost and Found.

I've also checked out several "I Found Your Camera" sites. Nothing there.

I'm so sad because I've uploaded my pictures and also my Photopass pics, and I feel like I'm missing a big part of my trip with those video images missing. Ugh. But I'm trying to be positive about what I still have.

It makes me sad that someone might have decided to just keep it -- someone else who was at Disneyland and probably with their family, too. I hope I am wrong about that and maybe it's just a matter of someone waiting until they get home to contact me.

Oh I'm sorry you lost your video camera. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find it. I've never lost anything at DL, but once my sister accidentally left her wallet on a bus in SAN FRANCISCO!!!! And you know what? Someone found it and called her. That says a lot considering it was SF!

Well shoot. I was actually fairly optimistic it was going to turn up. It's valuable enough that it couldn't be mistaken for something other than a lost item (unlike my son's shoe), yet personal enough that someone would have to be sociopathic to keep it and not turn it in.

Have you posted on craigslist lost & found?

Years ago we lost our camera at a MLB game, somewhere in the parking garage. It had vacation pictures on it and pictures of my kids' first MLB game, so I was pretty upset. DH posted on the local (to where we were) CL lost & found and about 2 weeks later, somebody contacted us, having seen our post. He happily shipped our camera back to us and all was good again. It's worth a try and I really hope you get it back. There are still good people out there!

my DH lost his phone on the Matterhorn. we went back to the hotel and realized it was gone. Thank goodness when he got over there and the CM had it. I am so sorry you lost your cam and pray some one turns it in to you.

DH dropped his wallet somewhere in the parks and it was turned into lost and found with everything still in it. A few years later we found a wallet laying next to a garbage can in DCA, tried to call the cell number listed inside with no luck so we turned it into lost and found. Honest people rock!

So sorry about the lost camera, it is heartbreaking. Last time in DL we found a very expensive nikon sitting on top of a post with no-one around. I picked it up and passed it to the closest CM, I do hope it made its way back to its rightful owner.
