Our last few stays at the Poly and AKL luggage carts are not available for guest use, only with the assistance of bellhop. I like to start packing up the van usually the night before we leave so I'm not sweating in the morning packing up all the extra suveniours and toys, I'm packed to the max already so just think of all the shifting and maneuvering I have to do in order to get everything in.

I don't mind having bellhop assist but I don't prefer the bellhop person watching over my shoulder as I say a few choice words getting everything loaded up. My wife loves packing everything, nothing is ever missed I love her for it but I'm the one packing. We usually have about 7 luggage bags, 2 large totes, and other miscellaneous bags toys...

Last trip I used the kids stroller to load up most of the luggage items but still took me 4 trips back and forth from the room to the car. What's your tips/strategies? Like I mentioned earlier I don't mind using bellhop but I prefer doing it at my own pace.

Thanks.

We either use the Bell Services staff with their carts or if we feel comfortable we will make multiple trips to the car on our own.

Per union agreement with Disney, carts at WDW are not for guests use. They want their tips.

I had the same concern when loading my scooter along with our luggage. Sorry, we paid too much for it, to have someone inexperienced taking it apart and loading it. (It goes on the rack a certain way to balance the load and prevent shifting.)

So, I did it. The bellhop just waited until I was done.

They may want their tips, but that means that they may have to wait for them.

I have had incredible experience with the Bellhops at VGF. One time, we were there with my mother, who was 85 at the time. I called the bellhop to help us with our luggage. He loaded the luggage for all three. I told him two of us were going in the car, and my mom was taking DME. No problem. I went out to the car, and he met me there, driving my wife and mom in the cart. After loading up my car, he also picked up that we were not leaving immediately. We were going to eat breakfast at Gasparillas before leaving. So he had me follow him in the car over to the main GF lot as he drove my mom to the luggage checkin for DME. After getting my mom’s luggage checked in, and saying goodbye to her so she could get on the bus, he had me follow him in my car over to the GF convention center and park my car so we would be close to Gasparillas and not have to walk so far when we finished breakfast.
I was amazed at the level of service, and yes I gave him a good tip.

Why not use bell services but just ask the guy to unload by your car? Then you can pack in your own time while he moves on.

Thanks for all the info, I will just make the bellhop wait on me while I load up. I want to be as courteous of their time since they make their money on handling as much luggage from guest each day.
