We are getting excited - leave in just over 2 weeks. Any packing tips from those of you who have done the Wyoming trip? Is there a place to do laundry along the way?

We are going in August and I actually just called Brooks Lake. They can do your laundry for $20 for big load.

We are going on the July 23 Wyoming trip. Same one? Four of us - DH, me and DS 14, DS 12.

Bumping this from last year! We leave in a few weeks on this trip and was wondering if I should pack reusable water bottles?

We were given water bottles on this trip from the tour company that took us around Yellowstone. We went last August.

Yes, ABD will provide water for you, even before you need it :-) We went the end of the summer and it was still warm in Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. A little bit cooler at Brooks Lake Lodge. I did not pack and tee shirts, thinking it would be too cool for them, but bought a bunch on sale in Jackson. So my advice would be to have layers. We were able to swim at the hotel in Jackson and there was a hot tub at Brooks Lake Lodge. I do remember someone suggesting an extension cord so you could put the fan in the window at Yellowstone, without it, the fan was not able to be placed in the window to bring in the cooler air.

Have fun.

Thank you LoveMickey! The extension cord idea is a great one. My DH will melt without AC!

That’s a good idea on extension cord. The night at Yellowstone was definitely warm and not the best night of sleep. Brooks lake was much cooler

Thanks! One more question-aside from active/hiking clothing, what else did folks pack in terms of clothing? I know we won’t need dressy items, but does DH need a golf shirt or two for dinners?

18 days until our trip! :cool1::cool1:

you can definitely get away with just tee shirts etc. Pack layers as the temps change a lot through out the day. Some people did wear polo shirts etc to dinner but it wasn't necessary. most people did change for dinner but that was mostly just to get out of the clothes you went fishing or horseback riding in. Nothing fancy was necessary.
One thing I would recommend is hand lotion, chapstick etc. the air at Brooks lake was very dry. you can also request a humidifier at the front desk if you need it.

We had such a great trip. you will love it!

Thanks! I’ve got some great H2O travel sized (perhaps from Copper Creek Villas lol) lotion that I can bring :thumbsup2

I loved the toiletries they had at Brooks Lake Lodge. Don't remember the name.

I keep thinking of questions, sorry lol!

I’m thinking I will use my North Face backpack as a carry on for the trip, but will I need that day to day? It’s a slim backpack so not cumbersome at all. Or a small crossbody? I have an Overland Pixley if anyone remembers those (small crossbody converts to fanny pack-my go to bag for Universal). DH has a DSLR so I’m thinking he will carry his camera backpack.

At the lodge you are never too far from your room so you can run back when you need to. The other days most people had a bag on the bus with all their extra stuff. I don’t remember most people walking around with a back pack etc. on the bus most people were using the ABD duffel bags to hold all their daily stuff.
