We leave three weeks from today!!! Yaaahhh!!:banana::banana: I am just itching to go down to the basement and start putting our tags on the suit cases! What do you think, is it still too early? We are a family of 6. My three teens/tweens have there own (lets say largest size carry on possible) cases and my dh and I have our own larger size ones as we split up the babies stuff in both (15 months). Give me all your packing tips. Also I want to pack baby food since my db is still in between regular food and baby food. Will they let me take it on my carry on or do I need to pack it in the check-ins? I guess I could put the jars in baggies and make sure they are cushioned on both sides. Stopping at a grocery store is not an option for us our 1st week; so I'll need to have everything we need with us.

I appreciate any advice.;);):goodvibes:goodvibes

They will let you take on some baby food, but not a weeks supply - in my experience they will let you take on enough for that day (around 4 jars + 2 bottles or sippy cups) even if you have a short flight. I've never tried to bring more than that on a plane, but if you pack them in ziplock bags and then wrap them in clothing, they should be fine. They do sell gerber baby food (I think it was gerber) in the hotels - it's cheaper at home, but if you are concerned about having easy access to some when you get there it's an option.

Yes, put them in baggies and wrap in bubble wrap packaging for your checked bags or around clothing. I would also carry some in your carry on bags too. I brought bottles of milk and sippy cups and juice boxes and they cleared through fine! They do sell baby food products at the resort stores and at the parks. Probably a little more pricey than bringing from home, but at least you know it's available if needed! Have a great trip:)

Thank-you. I was hoping they would have something for him at the hotels...just incase we get desperate. I'll pack all I can.....

Have you thought about having it delivered instead? Rather than packing diapers, wipes, and baby food, we're going to have Wegoshop.com deliver it. The fee is reasonable ($17), she shops normal a grocery store so the prices are about what we pay at home, and it saves me the headache of trying to cram a whole trip's worth of baby stuff into our luggage and then worrying about it breaking and getting all over everything.

I'm not sure where you are staying, but what about getting garden grocer to deliever food for the week to your room? I've never used them, but I've heard tons of people recommend them, and they have a website where you can order online.

I totally agree, we have used wegoshop many times and highly recommend them. You give them a detailed list of what you need and they shop the best store for your brand at the best prices. The groceries are delivered to your resort on check in day and can be left with bell services or you can arrange to get them personally. If your getting fruits, vegies or lunchmeat you may want to inspect them. If your getting alcohol you will be required to receive them in person. Otherwise just let them deliver to the resort on arrival day and pick up your items when you arrive.

The gift shops at the resorts have a very limited amount of baby items available and only a couple sizes of diapers. The babycare centers at the parks also have some items available, great in a pinch but not ideal.

I would go to the tsa website and check the section on traveling with babies/toddlers. The TSA will allow milk/formula and babyfood when traveling with an infant/toddler but they restrict you to an amount "reasonable for the length of the flight". So you will need to pack the rest in your carryon, ship it to yourself, stop at a grocery or have it delivered.

I would take a days worth of what you would need. You never know how long that plane could get delayed while you're stuck on it on the tarmac, or if it gets rerouted...you need to be prepared for a lot longer than the flight. I always take much more than I'll need, just in case. They've never stopped me. Of course, I'm not talking a weeks worth...but definitely a day's.

I leave in 2 days and I am bringing baby food in my check-in luggage, as well as 2 jars in my carry-on. We are having groceries delivered from garden grocer but the baby food just seemed like an easy thing to bring with me and save a little money. The prices on baby food are double what I pay at home, and we will be there for 10 days, so it saved me overe $20 just to bring my own.

We'll thanks to everyone for your advice. I've decided to pack the bulk of the baby food in the check-in luggage (carefully wrapped) and take enough for one day in my carry on. We have used wegoshop before and were very happy with thier service. The baby food is so specific though that I think Im better off doing it myself. We are also on the dining plan this trip; so other than the bf and a box of cherrios for the big kids we should be good.

I forgot how much extra packing you do with an infant/toddler in your home!!! Now I will just pray that our luggage gets to us!!! ME don't fail me now!

You could also ship a box to yourself, care of your resort. Then you could pack all the baby food and diapers, swim diapers, etc w/o worrying about fitting everything in too.

I always found it helpful to pack baby clothes in ziplock bags, so I could just grab and go in the am or hubby could help get the kids dressed! Also, you know if the clothes are out of the bag, they need to be laundered.

HTH.

Hi ! I have a 1 1/2 year old and 3 year old and have been to disney 3 times in 3 years now with them amung numerous flights to see grandparents. Put the tags on now, it is less for you to do later. The less you have to do helps avoid travel crazies. I have shipped diapers and supplies to the Contemporary that I boxed. Have your confirmation number on the box. This last trip I used garden grocer. Fantastic! and, for us, cheaper then shipping. Conceirge will keep milk, case of water, etc everything cold for you until you arrive because they deliver in the morning to the hotels. The less you have to carry on the plane while juggling kids that want to go in separate directions the better! Yes, you can take liquid formula and baby food on the plane (I assuming you mean the little cans). I always took the powdered kind in case of delays and a few times I had to use it due to airline delays. The airline steward will give you water (or juice, milk when you board the plane. You may have to ask). My kids HATED the powdered but lets face it, there is only so much you can carry and kids don't care that you can't exactly buy their favorite formula 10,000' up in the air. Bring an empty sippie cup, have them fill it when you board. Drinking helps pop their ears. Some airlines have a little, and I mean LITTLE, changing table that folds out from the wall in the bathrooms. SOME DON'T. One flight, we were delayed an hour on the tarmac, plus flight time and no changing table. I had to change my daughter in my lap. LOVELY. Thank God I had ziplocs in the diaper bag.

Use magic express, they are great. You don't need a car seat on the bus. Remeber to pack extra food, change of clothes and diapers because it takes time for your bags to get to your room. Again, using garden grocer, your diapers and needs will be there when you get there. Also have housekeeping deliver a crib and electric outlet covers. We used towels as a bumper in the crib, just thread them thru the slats. Always bring gallon zip locs. I don't know how but we use the box. You may also want to bring a little bottle (shampoo travel size) with dish soap in it to wash bottles/sippy cups. Of course, store in ziploc.

Love the dining plan. We had the 2 adult regular plan and it was plenty for the 4 of us. Last year we had the 2 adult deluxe, thinking older kids more food (our girls eat alot) but honestly it was WAY to much, even for the 4 of us. An appetizer, entree, dessert (generous portions) per person 3 TIMES a day is just to much for an average appetit. I don't care how much walking you do! Now that our older daughter is 3, this year we will have to pay for her to be on the dining plan and park entrance tickets. I will only do the regular plan from now on.

:tinker: One last suggestion, don't forget the pixie dust. ;)
