I'm leaving next thurs and was thinking of throwing some snacks in my suitcase (we're flying, not driving) just to have in the room.

What, from your experience, travels well and is worth bringing? I know granola bars would be a good replacement for breakfast but my mind must be fried b/c i can't really think of anything else.

We have the dining plan, but I'm a snacker and was hoping to spend as little out of pocket as possible.

THANKS!

Really anything is fine. We take:
small boxes of cereal
chips or pretzels
fruit snacks
microwave popcorn
special k bars
any 100 calorie packs
crackers/spray cheese (non refrigerated)
even some bananas

I usually take them out of the boxes they come in and pack them all together in a shoe box or some other cardboard or plastic box that I can toss at the end of the trip. Or I can use it to help get home something I buy there that I don't want to break.

Cereal, pop tarts, bagels (but we eat those first & put them in the fridge when we get there-like Lenders frozen kind).

I think I brought bananas too. No they didn't get smooshed but I forget where I had them.

Salsa & chips-we ship down some stuff so the chips don't get smooshed.

We buy milk from the resorts store. Soy milk too.

Or the donuts that are in a box, sealed for a treat one day or the packaged danishes, again for a treat breakfast.

My kids like slim jimswe don't usually have them at home but they always like them when we go WDW. Them are small and we keep them in our bag when we go to the parks for a quick snak.

Slim Jims
Nabs(cracker w/ peanut butter)
Gummies
Microwavable mac-n-cheese (go to food court and use microwave if you don't have one in your room)
Apples should travel pretty well

We usually fly too. I have started taking an insulated lunch bag because airlines have mostly cut out snacks during flights. When we flew across the country, the meal service was pay...:headache: so we brought things then too. Last year with our DD being an infant we brought some formula already mixed and used ice blocks in the bag to keep the temp cold. We didn't have any problem with airport security over those--their the small size--about the size of a deck of cards. That opens a whole other set of options for snacks. We are taking deli turkey/ham and cheese for her this time just so she doesn't have to eat so many chicken nuggets. We also have fruit cups for her and pop tarts for us in the am. Frequently on longer trips (this one is short) we take a box of cereal and pick up milk the night before.

Nuts
Trail Mix
cheese sticks
raisins
cut apples
banana
pringles

pop tarts!

PB/cracker packages

with the dining plan you may find you have snack credits left over - use them as you need them, don't save. You can always pull out $ if you run out of credits, but you can't use the credits outside of WDW:thumbsup2
