Packing snacks from home for ASMo?

I just went to Target and got a bunch of snacks and plan on packing them in a duffle bag and checking them through as luggage. If all goes well the Magical Express folks will have them in our room for us.

My question is has anyone ever flown with juice bags (Capri Sun) as checked luggage? Do they explode or leak? or are they OK in your luggage?

I packed juice boxes in a soft sided suit case when we went, I just layered a couple of bath towels in the suitcase around them, and nothing exploded.
I also had water and snacks in the same bag.

I've never used juice bags but I have done juice boxes. I would suggest putting 2 or 3 bags/boxes in the gallon ziploc bags and making sure that you don't pack anything on top that is extremely heavy. I do pack a snack bag or small suitcase and check it as luggage. I pack the edges of the suitcase with your beach towels to try to absorb any impact.

Wouldn't pack any snacks in a duffle bag, just watched them (Disney) moving luggage last week they grab a piece of luggage and throw it in the large carts for the ME then the next piece gets thrown on top of the first...you need something that will keep everything from being crushed.

Trust me the airlines are even worst your juice bags should be packed in tupperware or a disposable airtight container.

Don't Capri-Sun's come in a big sturdy box (I vaguely remember trying to pry it open with some force! LOL!). I'd think they would be okay if you left them in the box!

I would suggest not checking any bags with snacks or any type of food. I did that and when I got to the hotel and opened my bag, it was a mess. Apparently food gives a false positive for explosives and TSA had to hand search my bag. I appreciate them doing their job, but they went through all of my toiletries and left things open that then leaked all through my suitcase. Luckily, we were staying at the BCVs and had access to a washer. Another time I packed little sample boxes of Tide in my bag that also resulted in a hand search. You will know you got selected when your bag is not exactly as you packed it and there will be a little note inside informing you of the search. Now I just carry on snacks or buy them there. Have fun!!!

We take snacks including juice bags in our carry on luggage. We have never had a problem and it gives us something to munch on while flying or waiting for connecting flights.
