We are leaving in 6 days ( :cool1: ) and I'm trying to put together outfits for the kids, but I'm wondering if I should mostly pack tank tops, or throw in some t-shirts? I checked the weather (accuweather.com and weather.com say 2 different things.......go figure!), and it looks like it's going to be between 85-90 everyday. So far I've packed mostly tank tops because 90 is SCORCHING hot to us Ohioans. Also, is there any sense in packing long pants? I am bringing each of us a light jacket or hoodie incase it gets a bit chilly at night. Also, can we just wear casual clothes to all of these restaurants:

50's Primetime (supper)
Sci Fi (lunch)
Storybook Princess breakfast (duh)
Le Cellier (lunch)
Coral Reef (supper)
Hoop Dee Doo (dinner show)
Liberty Tree Tavern (supper)

I am packing 2 bathing suits for each of us. We are staying 7 nights/6 days. I'm packing 8 outfits for everyone plus what we've got on for our arrival day. So far am I on the right track? I am going to bring laundry soap for just incase, but I don't plan on doing laundry while we're there. Thanks a bunch!

Hi Dena!
We leave in 4 days ourselves. :woohoo: I've packed mostly tanks as well. There are a few tshirts in there for each kid. They each have several bathing suits, sneakers and sandals (I'll try to have them alternate)

As for myself, I packed a few shorts, but I mostly wear capris these days. I did pack alot of tank tops for myself. It looks like it is going to be VERY hot at least for the first part of our stay.

We plan to hit the parks when they open, try to ride as many of the "must sees" that the kids want, then back to the hotel for a swim during the hottest parts of the day. We'll see. I personally LOVE the heat, but the kids don't.
Have a great time!!

Sounds like you are on the right track, I don't think pants would be necessary, but capri's would be nice and of course a sweater or light jacket. Sometimes you get cool in the evening after a day in the sun.

Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

From Ohio also! I plan on packing the kids tank tops and shorts. I will bring "nicer" T-shirts for the evenings when we are doing dinner. We are flying and the planes are a little chilly so the kids will have some sort of pants/sweatshirt on, so that will be the only long pants I will bring. I can't imagine it getting chilly in the evening so I don't think long pants will be needed. :cheer2: Have fun!

We were there 4/8-4/15 and shorts and t-shirts were fine then - low of about 63 a couple days and highs between 80-90 depending on the day. We are heading back in June - nothing long for us (ok - maybe one sweatshirt for the 1 year old - but not anticipating using it for anything other than a pillow fo a nap).

If any of you are sensitive to sun you might want to include a couple of t-shirts to protect the shoulders of to use in case you get sunburnt. But other than that I would only pack maybe one pair of light weight long pants for all. While the evenings can get cool a lightweight jacket, et al, should be sufficient. Just certain you take sunscreen. I would also take two bathing suits so no one has to put on any wet suits.

Well, as much as I have gotten better about overpacking, I would still pack a pair of capris. We go every summer and believe it or not, one year there was so much rain I was freezing with all the a/c! Last April we went and thankfully I packed many capris because it was very chilly at night. I would pack a pair "just in case". I would rather have them and not need them, but that's just me. Have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the info everyone! I think I will throw in some t's for the evenings for sure. I have 2 pairs of capri's for me for the evenings. I'm soooooooooooooo excited! Thanks for all of the well wishes.

We are also going in 4 days, no long pants for us. Will take a light jacket just in case.

Hey you are pretty much doing ok. Although you might one to bring on pair of pants just in case. I currently live in Tampa (until Friday) and we have had some cold nights and days lately. Many people thought today was freezing. I would say better safe than sorry.

I have to say I agree with this. I'm white as fresh snow (and yup i hate it) if it werent for freckles i'd have no pigment :) anyway, i know that most are not tanned right now, so their skin is pretty fresh and ripe for a burn. I actually like a short sleeve better (light colors tho) then tanks not only do i not burn but its like having shade on your shoulders. I'm cooler in short sleeves than a tank.

90's nuthin' lol. I'm a texas girl...so heat is our neighbor (the nieghbor we all hate)...just take lots of good water proof sunscreen :) (bring LOTS of it, you dont want to buy a 15.00 small bottle of it there)

I am leaving in 6 days as well and while i was packing for the kids i was wondering the same thing! Everytime i packed a tank i was wondering if i had to many and it wouldnt be warm enough, but everytime i packed a T i was wondering if it would be to warm! LOL hopefully we have a good enough selection and we'll be ok!

YAY only ***6*** days till DISNEY! :cool1:

We for Orlando on Friday, too and are soooo excited! We are about 90% packed... still have to get the cameras/game boys, etc packed.

We are packing tees/tanks for the boys and bringing 2 sweatshirts each for the boys (ages 7 and 9), just in case. We are traveling from Boston, so they are going to wear zip off pants so that when we get to Orlando, they can zip off the legs and be comfy in their shorts. We packed another pair, just in case. I am wearing capris to FL, packing 1 pair of jeans and then 4 pairs of shorts. We have a washer and dryer at our resort, so we can wash some laundry as we need it.

The hardest part is that the boys want to pack their snorkels, masks, fins... and there is not a lot of room in their suitcase. We refuse to be a slave to luggage on vacation, so we are keeping their stuff in one suitcase and then they can also wear their own fanny packs with little odds and ends.

Good luck and have fun!
