Packing Nightmare!

Just venting! I'm always a chronic overpacker, and I've tried to get better-- especially since I usually do laundry halfway through the trip, there is no need to bring an outfit a day. But in addition to my usual overpacking, we're contending with some special circumstances this trip!

1) 10th Anniversary at Victoria and Alberts. Ugh! Suit, dress shoes, dress, yadda yadda.
2) DD's birthday. We're opening a couple things here but we are packing some items for her to open on her birthday, as well as wrapping paper and ribbon.
3) Seven month old baby! The above is small potatoes next to all the extra stuff you have to bring when traveling with a baby. Plus the stroller. And the carseat.

But no worries. It's all worth it, in three days I'll be relaxing by the pool at the Poly....

:cool2:

If you are flying, you can gate check the stroller. And if your munchkin still fits in the infant seat for a few more days, you can snap that onto the stroller and gate check them both. Can you wait to buy the bulk of your baby food and diapers there?

I can't help with the other stuff.

You could ship the birthday gifts down there and let her open the package when it arrives...it might make it more fun for her!
As for travling with a baby, I'm nothing but sympathetic. It's amazing to me how someone who weighs under 25 lbs can have more stuff than his mom who is a chronic overpacker!

Thanks for the advice. We are pretty much resigned to looking like the Joad family headed West.
