Here a stupid question.....this is going to be the first time we are actually going to use ME. When we travel, I never take a carry on with us (well I guess I do, the kids duffle bag that holds their DVD players, snacks, books). I want to pack our swim suits in a carry on and am unsure of what I type of luggage to bring for the carry on. I'm thinking the smallest roller one that comes with the set is airline acceptable.

What do I bring, just the swim suit, cover ups and some lotions?

How long does it take for ME to get us our luggage? Should I also bring my "make-up" and our night time clothes as well. We land at MCO at 10a and we have an ADR at 7p. It just seems like a waste of space for just those items.

What have you all done in this instance?

If you call the airline (or it may be online) they will let you know the size restrictions on what is considered a carry on.

Also, when we used ME last July our luggage arrived in our room in just a few hours. Basically we checked in, went to drop our carry ons off in the room, went and found something to eat, headed back to the room to change and go to the pool and our luggage was already there!

thanks for this info.

I think bringing your suits is a great idea, so you can enjoy the resort right away. Remember, bringing lotions and make up in a carry on will cause them to get tossed! Have a great trip.

OMG - I sounded like such an amatuer, "bringing lotions on the plane"....:rotfl: of course they will get tossed. Thanks for the reminder :goodvibes So now I have to buy $30 bottle (exaggerated) of sun screen for the kids at the WL? :rotfl2:

You are usually allowed 1 quart size baggie per person. In that put a couple 3 ounce size sunscreens for the afternoon and pack the big one in the checked bags. That's what we always do, use the travel size to reapply in parks during week, DH & DD are very fair skinned.

There is no reason to spend the money at WDW for sunscreen. Put the big tubes/spray bottles in a quart size bag so that it easy to see what it is and pack it in your luggage. I just bought 2 oz. tubes of Coppertone Sport 30 at Target for $1. I also saw them at Walmart, but they were $1.47. I have a 20 month old, so I also picked up a travel size of the...umh...(whichever one is in the pink tube) at Toys r Us for about $2. Those are going in the carry-ons.

Ot-A tip someone told me. I only packed clothes in my DH and DKiddos luggage. I put anything I thought might be flagged when we checked the luggage in into my bag. The baby formula, sunscreen, shampoo, deodarant, the fan misters and any other HB&As went in clear quart size bags. My suitcase was the only one opened and checked. It was funny, the security person thanked us for packing that way. She said it was easier to go through one persons bag and see everything, then dig through a whole families for a few items in each bag. :thumbsup2

I have always carried an extra set of clothes, PJ's and a swimsuit for each person in our family in our carry on bags. I have had my luggage both lost and detained more times than I care to remember. So I follow the old boy scout rule "Be Prepared!"
