I am now just a month away from my trip, :cool1: and now have started a packing list. I plan on taking three bags, one for a carry-on, one small checked bag I'll pick up myself at MCO, and one checked suitcase that I'll let the DME folks get.

This is what I have, and which bag I'm planning on packing it in.

Carry-On Bag

This will basically be everything I either A) can't afford to lose, or B) really don't want to lose.

Wallet, w/ tickets, credit cards, etc.
Camera w/ three memory cards, room for approx 1,500 pics.
Perscription
Pass Porter w/ all confirmation numbers.
Change or two of clothes.
Autograph Book
Pins? (Are these allowed on carry-ons?)
Cell Phone w/ Charger
Batteries and charger

Small Checked Bag

This bag, is due to the new bans, and will be a very small bag of things I'll want right after I land.

Suntan Lotion
Shampoo & Soaps
Chapstick
Granola Bars (one or two boxes, may go on my carry-on.)
Pins, (if not able to take on carry-on.)
Some Clothes

Checked Suitcase for DME

I just realized that my OP was very random sounding, I meant to ask if anyone had any suggestions, on things I may be forgetting, or if there's anything I have listed in one bag that I should switch to a different bag. I know I still have a month, but I like to get my packing done early. :goodvibes

[To me, it sounds like a little bit of a hassle to have three bags, one of which you intend to pick up at baggage yourself. Yes, I think you can bring the pins on as carry-on now. I'm assuming they are typical Dinsey pins.

Let's see if I can convince you to consider letting the second bag go via ME, or eliminate it. You can now bring up to three ounces of liquid in your carry on. I think you can also bring chapstick. You just have to put the liquids in a ziploc bag. Check out the TSA website for the specifics.

Do you intend to shower as soon as you get to your room? If so, I could understnd your desire to have the soaps, otherwise, they will get to your room within a few hours. Plus, most resorts will provide you with soap and shampoo. You could also solve the problem by having travel sized bottles - including the suntan lotion. I'm not sure if you can find the tiny travel sized bottles of suntan lotion this time of year, but they were certainly around in the summer. Also, I don't know what time of day you'll be arriving. It is certainly possible that you won't be out in the sun for that many hours on your first day anyhow. Remember, it's daylight savings time now, so it's going to be dark by six, and the sun after 4 is not very strong. You could certainly get a hat or bring a hat carry on. Also, in a month, the temps will probably be cool enough that a lightweight, long sleeve shirt would work well.

A great product that I discovered last trip is moleskin. If you are remotely inclined to getting blisters or hot spots - that stuff is amazing! I don't usually get blisters myself, but I had a scrape on the back of my ankle for my last trip. Moleskin saved my foot! You can slip a single small sheet of it in your wallet even. The thin, no-name kind was best for my needs.
I always bring bandaids and some sort of anti-bacterial lotion. For that matter, having some of that hand sanitizer is great too - not that I want to add to your liquid/gel items. :)

Don't forget a bathing suit!

I forgot to say that I have a small bottle of that Purell hand sanitizer stuff, as well as a Tide to Go pen, in case I need it. And I have the travel size bottles of suntan lotion, as well as a regular bottle, a big bottle of aloe, and a bottle of after-sun lotion. I burn easily, so want to be prepared.

Another Question - Is it three ounces total, or three ounces per item, as long as all items are able to fit in a quart-size bag?

For instance, I checked the sizes of the bottles, and they are as follows.

Sunscreen - 2 oz
Purell - 2 oz
Tide to Go - less then 1 oz
Toothpaste - 2 oz

So would I be able to take all of these, or just one?

Even if the only thing I'm able to take is my sunscreen, I could probably get away with only my carry-on, and the checked suitcase.

Also, has anyone ever had a problem carrying on pins?

I have three landyards, with about a dozen pins each. I could take one landyard in my carry-on, and put the other two in my checked bag. Therefor, if the carry-on ones do get confiscated, (knock on wood,) I would still have the other two by the next day.

My suggestion would be to put the small checked bag stuff into a large ziplock bag and place it on top or in a side pocket that is easy to access.
