Hi there!
I think I'm going to take the advice of packing all dd's things (diapers, wipes, etc) in a checked suitcase and have plenty of room to bring back goodies!

Ok, now my question. DD is on high calorie formula (similar to Pediasure) but her's comes only in 8 oz cans that have some carbonation. Do y'all think these should be ok to pack into the checked suitcase or should I think about sending them ahead of time via ups or something?

Thanks!!

I would definitely think about sending them ahead. I say this based on my experience with leaving a diet coke in my checked luggage. I don't think it exploded, but instead was punctured in some way. I've seen how that luggage is loaded into the plane and I wouldn't take the chance. It'd probably wash out of clothes, but formula is too expensive to waste!

Have a great trip!!

I agree - send it ahead. Also, bring at least enough for 24 hours in your carry-on bag. Is this formula you could conceivably purchase at a store in Florida? If so, I'd find out where as a "just-in-case" measure.

Have a great trip!

I also agree - send it ahead of time. Not only because of the puncture issue, but because it's probably gonna be pretty darn heavy and the airlines have weight limits - you wouldn't want to have to pay an extra fee just because of the weight of the formula.

Have a great trip!

we tend to buy our baby supplies when we get there. We pack enough diapers and wipes for the trip there, then stop at the grocery store for diapers and wipes. There are a few grocery delivery services that you can use if you are not renting a car. Don't forget swim diapers if you are going to be using the pool

If you end up shipping though, you might want to buy it at an on-line store and have them ship it to the hotel for you. I know what it is like trying to get out to the post office with a heavy package and a little one in tow!!

Good luck!
