Alright, this question is going to make me sound like a total goober, but...

Do you wear jean shorts when you are at WDW?

Well, do you wear jean shorts at all...lol...I don't even know if they are 'in style' anymore. I just know that I have a drawer full that fit.... but they aren't the most comfy!

I'd rather wear my athletic shorts the whole time! or cargo-ish shorts.

So, what do you wear around the parks?

Consider this question to be for May travel ie mid-80's.

Jean shorts or "jorts" :goodvibes are not in style per se, but plenty of folks still wear them...kind of like the fanny pack :rotfl: I think jean shorts are hot and if you get wet even in the FL heat you will be wet for hours. I would opt for athletic shorts and cargos and burn hmm donate the jean shorts :goodvibes

I would go with comfort in this situation. I think the cargo and certainly the athletic will be the better choice.
I keep playing with the idea of wearing my running skirts; they are ventalated and look cute.

I hate to carry bags into the parks, so went online and bought quite a few pairs of cargo shorts that I only wear for WDW. I like the thin Carribean Joe ones. They are lightweight, have plenty of room in the pockets for every thing that I carry in the parks, and dry quickly if they get wet. I love going through the bagless lines, so cargo shorts are the way to go.

No way would I wear jean shorts down there (too hot, too heavy, and take forever to dry when they get wet:rotfl:).

I would skip the jean shorts (too hot).
While I don't wear jean shorts (not flattering on me) they are making a comeback. :confused3

I wear jean shorts all the time (including in Disney) and find them to be very comfortable. They are also very much still in style where I live. Even the 16 year olds wear them.

No, I don’t. At least not to Disney. I think I have one pair and I love them, but they are too hot to wear in that heat and if you get caught in a downpour, they feel crappy wet and take forever to dry.

If it's hot I also like sundresses and skirts (if they're a bit short even, bike shorts underneath!). We aren't on a marathon, and I do like to look sort of nice.

I agree that any type of denim may be hot and sticky for most folks - except when we've gone in December and it was freezing! I wore jeans and hoodies then and was cursing myself in my sandals (frozen feet).

Whatever is cool and comfortable is good. I also don't do sneakers - I like Chacos walking sandals better.

toooo hot! take too long to dry

I second light hiking cargos or active wear (like the running skirt, ect)

and hiking shoes (dry fast! like Keens)

Even if you don't get on water rides there are unpredictable down pours.

My vote is to bring a pair if you like them, if not then skip it.

I have a pair of jean shorts I love, but they are super comfy. I tend to wear them on cooler days or out for the evening when I know I will be sitting on a curb somewhere watching a parade.

I wouldn't wear them because they'd be too hot.

I stick with lightweight khaki shorts, linen shorts, etc. Something light and airy, that breathes.

Also, they'd stick to you if you rode Kali or Splash, and that's not a happy feeling. ;)

I must have missed the memo that jean shorts aren't in style anymore, because I see them EVERYWHERE.

With that being said, yes, I will be wearing jean shorts while at Disney World. I guess I never really thought about wearing any other kind of shorts, since all I wear is jean shorts (that are apparently out of style). I do plan on buying a pair of black shorts, that I'm going to wear the night my dad is keeping DS, and DH, my BFF & I are having an "adult night".

Humidity and Denim do not mix.

Florida is humid just about year round, unless it was 'winter' I would avoid true jean shorts.

To heck with style. No matter what you wear, and how badly it *may* seem out of fashion, you will quickly encounter thousands of people who look worse than you do :woohoo:

lol I wear them all the time too but every now and then I need to check my fashion pulse with the rest of the world and see what they think. Most of my FB friends said they are still 'in'.... :thumbsup2

Personally I'd rather NOT wear them, but if I switched to just cargos and athletics all the time I wouldn't be able to monitor my flab level :confused3 Nothing like jeans and jean shorts to tell you if you have gained weight or remind you to do ab-work lol. :lmao:

thanks for the feedback peeps!

I wear jean shorts all the time. I don't find them too hot and I am in south Texas where is is already in the 80s and will be 110 in the summer. I say wear whatever is most comfortable for you.

Sundresses are great...cool and comfortable.

I have several pair of jean shorts but, I don't wear them at Disney too hot and if I get wet, too hard to get off...I wear lots of cool for hot weather shorts..good luck and wear whatever you are comfortablein:)
