We leave in 4 days and I am having trouble deciding what to pack for the kids. We arrive on Oct.23 and will stay until at least Nov.3. We did Nov 1-14 in 2013, but the weather seems warmer this year, even here in KS (we still have our A/C on, but usually we are wearing coats by Halloween night). Since the kids suitcases are so small, I can't pack for both types of weather. There's just not enough room. For the girls, I'm thinking about just packing like I pack for our May vacations, shorts and tanks/short sleeve shirts, plus throwing in some thick tights that they can throw on under their shorts and 1 hoodie/sweater. The boys are harder though since they can't just throw on some tights. Should I go with shorts or athletic pants? For those traveling in late oct/early nov, what are you packing? Anyone who's already there or lives there, has it been warmer than usual? Are you still wearing shorts? Also, is it as rainy as it is in May/June?

We are soon heading to Disney as well. We are packing summer clothes. T-shirts and shorts. The weather will still be in the 80's during the day with a little cooler overnight temps. I am coming from SC where our AC's are still running and we have no need for warmer clothes. I wouldn't pack too many winter things.
Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip!!

We are coming from Maine from October 29 through November 6 packing majority of summer clothes with a sweatshirt for cooler nights but anything in Florida that's considered cool is warmer than Maine weather in November. I think it depends on what you consider cool.

The long range for Orlando through the end of October is currently 80 degrees days and 65 nights. I have been there in early November when a cold snap came down all the way to Florida, and while swimming might have been tough, it was cool at worst a few days (I still wore shorts and was fine). So you should be Ok with a minimum of "just in case" heavier clothing to layer with.

The weather during that timeframe can be a toss up.

Last year was insanely warm and we never used our sweaters. I remember sweating at the Nov 1 MNSSHP.

The year before we needed hoodies/coats at night. We could see our breath.

In the past for me October has been cool enough that I could wear long pants no problem, but start freezing my butt off by night time (I am from the Bahamas so any temperature under 80 is cool to me! LOL). My parents went the week before Thanksgiving last year and got an unexpected cold front that had them freezing the first couple of days, but it warmed up some by the time the trip was over.

My sister is convinced it will be too hot for jeans, but she is packing one pair and some shorts and tanks but also taking a hoodie/jacket. I on the other hand, I am only packing leggings and jeans and my jacket will be close at hand. In any event, sometimes the a/c indoors at the park is too cold even on a hot day to me. But the weather here has cooled down alot in the past week (especially after Matthew) so I assume Orlando has chilled a bit too.

We're going on Friday, staying thru Halloween. I'll be wearing jeans and long sleeve shirt on the plane and that will be my one 'chilly weather' outfit! Otherwise, it's capris and t-shirts! I have one very light sweatshirt for evenings if it gets below 60.

We arrive Friday and head home on Nov. 2.

We are packing capris/shorts, t's and wearing jeans/long pants and hoodies or sweaters on the plane. We also pack light yoga style jackets to wear in the parks at night or in overly air conditioned attractions. When not in use we just tie them around our waists.

We have been surprised twice with a cold snap during our stays. The last one was mid November 2013. We found one of our day's quite cold and we're Canadian so that's saying a lot :D. We actually spent a lot of the day in our room because we weren't prepared for such a significant drop in temps. What made it worse was the humid Florida air combined with wind. I think it dropped to around 7-8 degrees that day.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is LAYERS. Pack layers.

We were there Oct 31-November 11 last year. It was in the low to mid 90s every day. My 13 year old son and my DH wore nothing but shorts and tshirts the entire time. I wore capris and t-shirts.

WoW, That is Unseasonably HOT!!!:crazy2:

This will be our 4th Jersey week appearance...In the PAST THOUGH, what we've encountered was some of the Best weather ever.
Like a pp stated. Roughly hi 70*s to low 80*s with no/low humidity. Nights were slightly cooler but pleasant. Nothing that a sweatshirt couldn't keep warm..

Out of the 27 days/nights total from those 3 visits, we had 1 day that it was only 68* for a hi & I believe the other one was around 60*
I remember this because it was our resort day at CSR. I remember 1 of the lifeguards telling my DW that if it had dropped a few degrees more than they/Lifeguards couldn't monitor the pools. (Or close them, Something like that) The water was nice & warm ,but getting out to go up to the slide was tough....Not so much for my son, but for me....:scared1:......Sorry---->:offtopic:

Pack lightly, whatever you don't bring you can always get, down there....At least that's what I tell the family..Either way have a great trip.

I'm packing mostly summer clothes- tshirts and shorts. Wearing LuLaroe leggins and a long sleeve lightweight top/cardigan on plane that I can use in the parks at night if it gets cool. Not taking a sweatshirt because I'll probably buy one there anyway. Jeans I'm only taking if there's room, they may be the first clothing item that gets voted off the island because I can take a couple pairs of leggins with the space it takes to pack jeans.

I'm packing summer clothes and 1 sweatshirt apiece. We are there the 28th-8th.

I'm going next Sunday-Thursday and packing mostly shorts and t-shirts. The forecast currently has it hovering around 80 high, 60 low, no rain. Will wear a sweatshirt on the flight down. Also throwing in a short sleeve button down and chinos for Flying Fish.

I'm going Saturday and packing summer clothes, short sleeves and shorts. I'll wear a pair of jeans and pack another. Sweater just in case. Weather should be great!

I don't think it has ever been cool enough to make pants a necessity for my boys even here in North Florida before the end of November, and even then they are often still in shorts. We have lived in Florida our whole lives, so we don't do cold at all. I would say just make sure the boys have a hoodie and you will be just fine. Pack one pair of jeans that they can re-wear or wear at night if they get chilly, but I doubt they will be necessary.
