Packing Cubes Rock!

I am not finding the discontinued color on ebags, can someone help?

Here are the links to the discontinued colors. While you're on ebags, read the reviews for these. That's what convinced me to buy them (along with my friend here on the DIS--Jamie, otherwise known as JamStew, lol). Again though, even though I bought my first ones at ebags, I found the Eagle Brand cubes and folders at TG Maxx much cheaper. Some of my cubes, they had for 4.00-$8.00 and all of the folders were less than $18.00.

I found some Eagle Creek pieces in the luggage store at the local outlet mall.

so how many cubes per person is everyone using?? i just can't seem to justify buying these yet - we are a family of 5, and it looks like (from reading the reviews online) that people use more than 1 cube per person... there is a set of 6 cubes for almost $50 on ebags, or the set of 3 in discontinued colors for $20.... how many bags would i need??

It's just me, and I normally use 2 folders (18" I think), one large cube and two half cubes. It depends on when I'm traveling, though. I can get by with one folder rather than two in warm weather.

There's a video here: http://www.eaglecreek.com/packing_solutions/, which might give you a better idea.

For just me, I usually pack my clothes in a 18" packing folder, then use two long slim cubes to pack panties, bras, and nightgown. I then use a small cube to pack odds and ends that I don't want loose in my bag. I then carry an empty 20" folder to repack my dirty clothes (including underwear and bras) in every night. On my last night I just drop the empty slim cubes and 18" folder in the bottom of my bag and then drop the 20" folder full of dirty clothes on top, roll up my toiletry bag and place in beside the folder, drop in my shoes around the edges and I'm all packed to go home and always have tons of rooms left in my bag. Because I usually take the 18" folder down in my carry on, my carry on will also be half empty going home. People say the packing cubes and folders aren't made to compress your clothes, but I've found that they do so. They seem to stretch ALOT, so I can always squeeze alot of clothes in there. As long as you can get the velcro to catch on the packing folders they will hold. Again I am pooh sized and can get 8 nights worth of shorts and t shirts in one 18" packing folder (and always pack at least one extra outfit). I don't really use the packing cubes for my clothes much anymore, as I prefer the packing folders. The cubes I use more for underclothes and odds and ends. I normally use a small one for that. My medium and large cubes I don't use much anymore, but I love the slim cubes, small cubes, and packing folders.

thanks. i just bought two sets of the discontinued colors plus a carry on suitcase for my camera and such.

i think this will work out well as i can pack them before i get the suitcases out.

also, since i went thru shopathome i got 12 percent back.

if anyone wants to go thru shopathome and get 5.00 in their account when they buy something (i get 5.00 too for the referral), please pm me with your email address and i will invite you to join. i was gotten over 600.00 back from them due to shopping on line.

Thanks aubriee! I have been debating getting cubes for a few years. My DH has a folder for business travel (that he never uses) but with four of us travelling it makes sense to keep everyone organized.

Our next trip is to CT first for a wedding, then to WDW. My girls will need to spend the night with my cousin as the wedding is adults only, so the cubes will help me keep everything separated for their sleepover.

Thanks! Silly me was looking for Eagle Creek and that is why I couldn't find Blossom. My Mom is going to order them for DD's birthday, it will match her Aloha Pink LLBean rolling duffel and carry on. It is crazy, I have an almost 5 year old who is obsessed with luggage and packing! She totally gets it from me and my Mom... my Mom actually bought me a suitcase charm for my Pandora bracelet! :rotfl2: I have some green Eagle Creek cubes now and DD was picking out the ones she gets to use next week! She will go nuts having her own in pink! princess:

We received our packing cubes from ebags, i really like them but they are a bit small. I bought the ones that are discontinued. They are coming in handy to pack things like under garments, toiletries and such.
