Can you pack coffee and food in your luggage, I like certain things and want to take them with me on our trip. Just want to make sure they are allowed.

We have packed entire suitcases with food! (Thanks to Southwest's no baggage fees). Cereal, crackers, kids snacks, coffee (a must have). The empty suitcase made a great way to bring home souvenirs and any leftover clean clothing. Anything unopened and leftover went to a family just checking in. A little way to pay it forward.
I've done it, without problem.
I would not put lunchmeat in there but I've done bagels or bread/pb, shelfstable dairy products, crackers, chocolate (never arrived melted), candy, chips, etc.
Never noticed anything being hot, in fact the opposite and stuff was cooler then normal.
Don't forget that you can always ship things to yourself! I always send a box to myself c/o the front desk of our hotel via fed ex or UPS. I put all of the snack food, and also empty water bottles and other lightweight stuff in the box. It generally costs me about $15-20 to ship it and then I don't need to fit all that bulky stuff in the suitcases. I send it off about a week before our trip (we're in Wisconsin) and we've never had any problems. Disney will put a note in your check-in info so that when you check-in, they simply have your box waiting for you!

All it would take is a delay with your bags on the tarmac and your chocolate will be a gooey pool.
When we bring food we carry it on. Doesn't work with peanut butter as far as I know. But anything non liquid I just put it in the carryon.
You can only really do this with solids. Had to hand over a jar of Knott's Boysenberry Jelly on our way back from DLR. I was really bummed to because you can't find it around here.
