Packing Beach Towels?

Are guests allowed to take towels off the ship? We plan on going to one of the public beaches (not a Disney excursion) when we stop in Nassau. I'm not sure if we need to pack beach towels or not. Thanks in advance!

I was going to ask the same. We are going on a Disney excursion . I still think the answer was "no"?
In Castaway Cay, you are handed towels as you exit the ship, if I remember correctly.
I hope others can chime in on whether they are bringing beach towels from home!

Towels are provided at all ports of call. If you have a DCL excursion booked, you can pick them up where your group meets. If you are not on a DCL excursion, they usually have them set up at the gangways. DCL asks that you do not take the pool towels and that you also return any towels that you do take off the ship. A CM on our last cruise told me that they lose about 600 towels at each port because people just don't bring them back.

I know positively that they provide them at your shore excursion meeting place and on Castaway Cay (we were just there last Friday) but at other ports I do not think towels are normally set up outside the ship like at CC. They may be there but I just have never seen/noticed them at other ports. You may, of course, take them from the pool deck but I don't know if they are set up for the taking outside the ship.

To be sure just stop by the pool deck and take what you want and of course, bring them back. They will have a bin to toss used towels in set up outside on your return.

Hint, one of my favorite all time souvenirs is to buy a DCL beach towel onboard first night. I love them and love a full sized towel instead of the small ones they provide onboard. I buy one each cruise. Have quite the collection!!!

I have never heard of them asking guests not to take pool towels but it certainly is possible.
