I just read on another board that many of the delux resorts are full for the first week of December. I know this week isn't as light as it used to be and that it is Pop Warner week, but is this an indication that the parks are going to be packed, too?!

They film the Christmas Parade sometime around that time also.

From what I understand, that is usually the first WEEKEND in December, which would be Nov 30-Dec 2. I don't understand why the resorts would be packed fo rthe entire FIRST week tho  . Does the parade really bring THAT many people to the park the WHOLE first week of December since it's filmed on the weekend? I know they've filmed the parade like that for the past several years, but has it always been THAT full? just wondering! thanks tho!

Mousefest is Dec. 6-10, so that brings in a few thousand extra people.

I was there last year for the first week of December and all I can remember is there were Cheerleaders and Football players everywhere! All ages! Cheerleaders were doing cheers here and there, on the bus, on rides....kinda annoying. This is why I picked the second week in December this year.

I remember one night at Epcot we were actually stepping over and around "sleeping" cheerleaders. They were just plopping down and sleeping. Kinda weird!

I was at CSR last year Nov 29-Dec 6. Crowds weren't that bad. We followed Tour Guide Mike's advice and were able to walk on Soarin' and also several MK rides. Friday night at Epcot was very crowded (we went against TGM advice for that night due to CP dinner at Le Cellier), but other than that it was fine. We also avoided MK during the parade filming. We didn't see the Pop Warner kids until late Friday afternoon. They fill the value resorts, but not the parks, they're busy with competitions and games at Wide World of Sports.

Have a great trip!:santa:

Full resorts do not always equate to full parks. It could be that this time of year that a greater percentage of people going to the parks are also staying onsite. Also the fact that resorts do not have openings do not mean that all the rooms are full. They may not have a full staff to be able to rent out all the rooms. We were there last December during the week of Pop Warner and we heard that reservations were hard to get then also but the parks were not overly crowded. The are not like early Decembers of years ago when it was really dead but still not packed.

For the same reasons you would want to go, many others want to go too. Lots to see and do in December and the secret is out and it is no longer the off season it used to be. Weekends at the parks will be much more crowded than during the week due to locals.

But yes many of the resorts are sold out for December, as Disney is experiencing the highest occupancy levels they have in years.

What is this exactly? Will it make the parks a lot more crowded? My family and I are going Dec. 9th-15th for DD's surprise b-day trip.
