They looks so cute! Nikki had hers on today and twirled the whole time! I so love these!

You actually brought up a good point I just mentioned to my mom. Is it really cheaper to make a petti skirt rather then buy one? I have't figured out the yardage I would need since i am not good at math at all! :teacher: so I just keep thinking I need major yardage! I realize you get more then one yard out of 1 yard(I think) but I need to figure it out.

I know many pettiskirts say they have "60-100 yards of chiffon" but keep in mind that is total length for the ruffles and not the number of yards of fabric used. ;) I made a pettiskirt for Zoe and I think I started with 2 yards but quickly realized I needed more. In the end, I think I used about 5 yards (maybe more?). If I were to do another, I think 5 yards would be plenty if I changed how I do the bottom "fluff". I folded it over before gathering rather than gathering down the middle. Too late I realized that gathering down the center would have doubled the fullness of the "fluff" and the fluff really is what makes them look so full.

With shipping, the total that would be around $20 for 5 yards of chiffon. I do think less would work for smaller girls, though. For bigger girls each tier is longer so each tier needs to be fuller to get the same look. (I hope that made sense). The link to the tutorial on Martha Stewart's website called for only 3 yards.

     I'm Going to DISNEYWORLD!!!

Now do you want the long story or the short story? :rotfl: Believe it or not, here is the short story: We were planning to go to Hawaii for my big birthday in February (40 :scared1: :ssst: ) but we have to use up some timeshare weeks we have banked with RCI or we will lose them. I could not get anything in Hawaii. Now I really just didn't consider going to Disneyworld and staying off-property when there are SO MANY resorts I'm dying to try, but I got an email from Heathersue yesterday and realized she was going home the day before my birthday. I thought to myself "she needs to stay one more day so she can celebrate my birthday at Disneyworld for me" WAIT  Since Hawaii is looking grim (well not the place, but our prospects there) let me just check Orlando availability...HEY! I can get a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condo right next to Disneyworld with no additional cost to what I've already paid out! And I could basically get 3 of our 6 plane tickets with FF miles (thank goodness because they were over $600 a ticket after fees etc. :scared1:) SO I'm pretty sure DH said go ahead  and I just booked everything! :dance3: Happy birthday to me! I love my DH.

Well, it's about time! I don't ever read trip reports, but I am reading you guys and it's been kind of a while, you know. Let's be more punctual with your next installment. I'd hate to have to mark you down a letter grade!:teacher:
Hey, it was her fault! (if only there were a jumping up and down and pointing smiley, it would go here)

How interesting your Dh paints cars. My dad did that almost all of his life! I remember as a kid going to work with him and i :lovestruc LOVED the smell of car paint! I still do! Ok so that explains alot I can even tell you how to fix a dent like in the old days from watching him so many times! As a kid i also thought I would grow up to be a car sander because I always had fun when he would let me help him

Ok I bet my Joanns did really have a ruffler foot i could use. I was in the center of the store where they sell the sewing machines looking at a ruffler foot or wat I thought might be a ruffler foot ad some Vicking sales lady cam rushing over saying her ruffler foots could only e used on a Viking machine! So she sent me to the other side of the store and when I asked a reg sales rep she said they don't sell them. She must have just been a viking snob!
My dad used to work on cars, too. I always loved the smell of Bondo!Sniffing bondo as a child....I guess that could explain a few things...:lmao:

this is the picture of the inside of the halter top
th_2007_07170004.jpg

as you can see I put elastic in the inside half lining to give me some support

th)2007_07170005.jpg

and sometimes I even sew(iron on) interface lining to make it less see thru
(no need for a bra!!)
hope this helps

Linnette
Thanks for showing us the inside. You are just so talented. I have to agree with the other ladies, I wouldn't want to go braless- I may hurt someone.

That is really cool! Unfortunately for me, unless that elastic is made of titanium, I am still gonna need a bra. Especially on roller coasters!!!!

    How exciting! When are you going?

I decided that I do have a low shank. Almost sounds a medical issue.
Yes, you should really get that checked out. ;)

After checking with Shannon, I started a thread there for the current MAW Give. It's basically the information Shannon sent out via PM or posted here. I know it's sometimes hard to remember where to find a post on this thread so having all the information in one place that will be easy to find will definitely help IMO.
Thanks, I'm going over there to check it out!

Just wanted to let you know that I just got back from a shopping lunch date with fellow DISer "SarahlovesMickey" and the Disney Store is now at 75% off for clearance. Almost everything in the store is 50% off AND the tshirts are all 2.99.

Carry on with the sewing chat ;)
Oh, you're killing me!!! I WANT A DISNEY STORE!!!

I just wanted to say that I am overcome by what you all are doing for our family!!! I have seen the beautiful things you have done for Isabelle, Hannah, and Logan, and I am humbled that you would choose to honor us in the same way. You are all angels for spreading this pixie dust upon us!! Truly, words are inadequate express how I am feeling about all of you!!
xo,
Amy
Hey!!! I "know" you!! We go waaay back! (to last week, she pmed me about my grandma) You are SUCH a sweetheart.

The cupcake pictures are hilarous! They look so pretty in their pettis!!

I'M GOING TO MEET JEANNE!!!! (I hope)

I am so honored that you are planning a trip to WDW JUST so you can meet us. :cloud9: :lmao:

I got a package in the mail on Monday. Guess who it was from? It was from JEANNE!! She is the most incredibly sweet, giving, caring, person! I pmed her a while back because I loved the bracelets she made for herself and Jayden to wear to Disneyland. I have to wear a medical alert tag and I really wanted a Disney themed bracelet to wear with it. Jeanne said she'd make me one. Well, she ended up making me TWO. The part that really got me is, SHE DID IT FOR FREE!! Here they are. Aren't they pretty!?!?!

DSC00045_640x441.jpg

Plus, there was a bonus in the package. Luke made a bracelet just for Tessa. Here she is as she pulled it out of the bag. I'd say she likes it! :rotfl:
DSC00001_360x480.jpg

Here's a closeup of the bracelet Luke made. Jeanne said he picked out all the beads and the order they'd go in. Isn't my future son-in-law talented?
DSC00066_640x306.jpg

ETA: She hasn't taken it off since she got it, not even to sleep. I had to talk her into taking it off so I could get a better picture of it!

Jeanne, I am overwhelmed by your kindness. Thank you SO much! It's no fun to have to wear a medical alert tag EVERY day. You've made it much more enjoyable!!!

I'm so excited! The girls and I went and picked up their most recent pictures from my nephew today. As usual he did a great job. He actually took some more of them today that he posted on his website www.paulvphoto.com . I think they'll come right up top if anyone is interested in seeing Drew with no teeth! Riley and I thought she looked so cute that we needed to capture it on film.

Here are some of my favorites of Riley from their "dance" sitting.

I'd love to know which one you guys like the best. I'm going to download some of Drew's now!

LOVE the bracelets! That Jeanne is a REAL sweetie, isn't she!

I know! Last weekend we had so many people in our store it was like Christmas! We almost ran out of adult t-shirts! At one point the adult tshirt table looked like a mountain on fabric! It was crazy! The clearnace is actually marked down 40% and then you take an addition 50% off. It adds up to about 75% off. I got tons of b-day presents and clothes!

I think I have to pass on this BIG GIVE. I have to work this weekend and don't think I can make the deadline. But I'll keep an eye on the list, to see you need help and I can squeeze something in.

I'm sure I saw the link for the BIG GIVE siggy. But I can't find it. Can it be posted again? I want to see if I can fit it in my siggy.

I understand completely!!! Thank you so much! I figure for Nikki since she is a 7-8 I would get 8 yards of fabric to be safe. also incase I make a mistake:rolleyes1 thank you again! it will e a it before I make it because I want to practice on some other things before I take the leap but this is Def on my list to do!!!!!

Tessa's face is priceless in that picture! I LOVE her pure happiness!
