I would call one of the ladies at the hancocks and ask if it will fit and if it is in stock. also maybe google the part and see if it will work on your machine. do you have a joanns close.. I know they sell a lot of brother attachments... does walmart carry any attachments at all>>

and yes a ruffler foot is a must!!

I don't have your specific machine - I have the costco version of the Brother i6000. I have used one of the Hancock's rufflers on my machine before. I think the brand is "creative solutions" or "sewing solutions" or something like that. ANYWAY, my machine takes the low shank ruffler. I would imagine yours takes the same. You have to unscrew the snap on clip, and then screw the ruffler foot on. It is a bit of a pain, but it works. If you don't need it today, I would check :wizard: for a snap on foot ruffler. It really is easier IMO.

:lmao: I just want to clarify, that even with subjecgtive age in Michigan, I am

Wow, $3.98/gallon! That's a BARGAIN! We paid $4.17 over the weekend. :scared1:
Yes, I'm sure there is a ruffler that will fit your machine. But, you need to know whether you have a low shank, a slant shank, or a high shank on your machine. If you can't find the information in your booklet, go ahead and call the customer service number and they will probably tell you what shank you have. The only ruffler I've seen at JoAnn (and my JoAnn usually has only 1 in stock) is the low shank ruffler. If you need a slant shank, let me know because I have an extra.

Our JoAnn sells ruffler feet, but they don't have a seperate little sewing machine shop. I've heard that some JoAnns are like that, though.

If anyone does have a "regular" JoAnn, the rufflers are by the sewing machines, in a package that hangs on the wall. They are $14.99 for a low shank ruffler, with all the bells and whistles.

Maybe call Hancocks and have them check for you.

Thanks for the all the help. I decided that I do have a low shank. Almost sounds a medical issue:rotfl: :rotfl: . ANyway, I called Hancock and the clerk said they do carry the ruffler for 29.99. That's a little more than a I want to spend but I believe I will use it a lot. I have to have it today or I am likely to throw this petti out the window and fork at th $80 on the internet.

Thanks again.

Oh my! I must interrupt this discussion to say

I JUST BOUGHT AIRTRAN TICKETS to LAX! We are going to DISNEYLAND! Gotta go get some Mickey's Treat tickets now!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: CONGRATS on the trip to DL! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I so hope DH hits his head some day and decides another trip to WDW would be a good idea for this upcoming fall/winter/spring;) .

I'm having a hard time finding any Big Give information on the other board. All I can find is a "test" thread. Could you post a direct link to the thread where the info is?

Thanks again for organizing this, Shannon!

After checking with Shannon, I started a thread there for the current MAW Give. It's basically the information Shannon sent out via PM or posted here. I know it's sometimes hard to remember where to find a post on this thread so having all the information in one place that will be easy to find will definitely help IMO.

FYI - The Big Give Group logo in my siggy links to that section of the DisBoutiquer board.

Is there a pattern for the patchwork twirl online or it is a YCMT?

I am doing a frankenpattern. I am using a YCMT pattern for a top and the bottom I got from the links on the first page of this thread. It really isn't a pattern, just directions.

I hear you! The kids and I are all sooo ready to go back to WDW, but DH isn't quite convinced!

At my job they ordered some sample sheet in cream. They were not what they wanted and very itchy. My boss looked at me and just said "get them out of here" So I put them in my truck and will use them as our indian costumes since it is already cream coloured. I can paint on the material and make long strings with beads.

It works out perfect!

Hey all, I haven't gotten caught up on the posts from the long weekend yet, but DH wants to know if anyone has a better system for organizing their 'stash' than rubbermaid totes.

That is really cool! Unfortunately for me, unless that elastic is made of titanium, I am still gonna need a bra. Especially on roller coasters!!!!:scared1:

:scared1: :rotfl2: :scared1: :rotfl2: :scared1: :rotfl2:
OK, now that made me laugh out loud! My kids looked at me like I'm crazy. (Not all that unusual) I feel ya on the titanium!

Linette ~ You are the coolest and SO talented! I love that you can conceptualize all these things and they actually come out looking fantastic! Not to mention you're so speedy! With 4 girls, I could use some lessons from you!!:cutie: :cutie: :cutie: :cutie: Glad you're feeling better!

That post from Bill was so sweet too. It got me all sniffly. :goodvibes I'm not even in the Big give group and just love that there are kids out there getting warm & fuzzy feelings from people they don't know! *sniff*

Minnie2 ~ The patchwork twirl directions are GREAT! I just finished two of them. I'm not very experienced, (my seam ripper and I are really tight!:rotfl: ) and I thought it wasn't too hard. Time comsuming but not hard. I like the look of them at 1.5 times full. My girls are very active:yay: and these short, full skirts are great for running in! I bought some knit shorts for them to wear underneath since they twirl very high.

Sorry for all the smilies guys! I'm just so amused by them. They're so cute how can you resist?

I have to tell you that Amy is thrilled beyond words at this surprise. She is a very wonderful mother, wife, friend, etc.

May your sox be blessed off for what you are doing.

Bill

Please remember that we are doing our best to provide several different types of items for each family. You don't have to be a professional seamstress to participate. Some of the items that we would like to give:
t-shirts for each family member (using an iron on DISign, or whatever you choose)
autograph books for each child
world passports for each child
crayon/colored pencil roll ups

EVERYONE can participate if you wish!

Woohoo! I'm having so much fun planning these sets it was hard to limit myself to signing up for just one. However, I have to remember how many other people enjoy giving so I won't be greedy. :rolleyes1

Thanks for pointing that out...I'm not comfortable sewing for another people at this point but I would be glad to help out in another way. Speaking of which, I really have to get my stuff for Big Give MAW1 finished and mailed out. Does anyone know if Staples carries evelopes that will fit 12X12 sheets?

What about a priority mail box that hasn't been opened? Like still flat? Would that work?

Just wanted to let you know that I just got back from a shopping lunch date with fellow DISer "SarahlovesMickey" and the Disney Store is now at 75% off for clearance. Almost everything in the store is 50% off AND the tshirts are all 2.99.

Carry on with the sewing chat ;)

You actually brought up a good point I just mentioned to my mom. Is it really cheaper to make a petti skirt rather then buy one? I have't figured out the yardage I would need since i am not good at math at all! :teacher: so I just keep thinking I need major yardage! I realize you get more then one yard out of 1 yard(I think) but I need to figure it out.

Great thanks!!!! I thought I saw one there!

You mean the one in the book marks?

I love the smileys:love: :cheer2:

I just wanted to say that I am overcome by what you all are doing for our family!!! I have seen the beautiful things you have done for Isabelle, Hannah, and Logan, and I am humbled that you would choose to honor us in the same way. You are all angels for spreading this pixie dust upon us!! Truly, words are inadequate express how I am feeling about all of you!!
xo,
Amy
