I haven't been on all day, but I've glanced at the new outfits and they all look great! I love the WALL-E purse!

That's great Heather, that you're going back to WDW in Feb!! How exciting!!!

I finished a dress for my youngest daughter, and wanted to share. I bought some material and a couple of patterns the other day. But I HATED the patterns, and I realized why I don't use them. I like to do things out of my head. And I told my mom nevermind on the sewing machine, I really love to hand sew, I find it very relaxing. So I'm sticking to what I know & love! :thumbsup2

I'm very happy with it, I'm all about trim & ruffles!! The only thing I'm going to change is that it's too long, especially for FL in Sept! So I'm going to make it about 4 inches shorter and *attempt* to make a matching bow!

Renae

You made that by hand??? WOW :worship:

Okay, I whipped this up for Logan today. His measurements are almost exactly the same as Luke's :confused3 so that was easy! I had a hard time deciding on what to do for the tee shirt. I wanted to use a black one, but from what I've heard, I think black+Florida+August=:faint: So I went with white for the sake of not melting in the sun. Then I was going to just do a frayed edged applique using the same fabric as the shorts but I felt a little guilty because it would be SOOOOO easy :rotfl: So I decided to do a "real" applique. However I don't have the skillz to do much more than a Mickey head so I hope this doesn't look too dumb. Luke liked it. But he refused to open his eyes for the pictures. :sad2: The applique turned out quite well though, although some "normal" people may wonder why Lightning McQueen is in a Mickey head :lmao:

Very, very cute! I love the mickey head car!

I made my oldest DD a couple of tops last week but wasn't too happy with them. She really loved one so I guess that's all that matters but the other one was a very easy McCall's pattern and it was so low in the front that my DD wouldn't (and shouldn't) wear it. I was able to add a fabric panel to it so she can wear it but I'm still disappointed in it. I don't have a picture of it yet.

SO....I decided to go back to something I know I can do. My DD(9) wouldn't wear this at home but it is perfect for the Crystal Palace. She is a HUGE Pooh fan and just loves this. It looks super cute on and DD says she likes the feel of this lined dress. Sorry for the poor cell phone image....

Perfect for Crystal Palace

Guess who is leaving early for Disney?!! I am freaking out I have to still finish Kaitlyn and Madis Princess outfits, and we are leaving the 3rd!

Wow! I am so overwhelmed by all your compliments! Thank you all so much!! My head is swelling up as I type! :lmao:

I guess I've just found a passion and a great group of ladies to share it with. I'm very excited to keep sewing and to keep seeing all your new designs, you're all so inspiring, and thank you again for all the sweet compliments!!

Renae

Very cute! Great job!! I can't wait to sew a twirl skirt for my oldest dd!

Very nice!! Makes me want to scrapbook again!

I like that a lot, the mickey head looks great!

I know it's a little late, but I agree with a sash or ruffle in the middle of the dress. I think it looks great and I LOVE the scallop edging on the bottom!

Adorable dress, little girl and bag!! Great job! :thumbsup2

I love it! I can't wait to start on a pair of shorts for my dd, she would actually LOVE that outfit, she loves Cars!

How sweet!! We're going to the Crystal Palace too, we can't wait! Love the dress!

Woo hoo! Have a great time!!!

Finally caught up for the day! Started on a dress for my oldest daughter, she is sooooo jealous of Joy's dress. So she is getting an Ariel dress too. :rotfl:

Renae

:rotfl:
I really love this outfit and the stitching you did!!!! (Was it easier than Simba??? :lmao: )
YES!!! The applique was one of the easiest ones I've done!
Thank you so much!

I have my MAW big give dress put together, but i think it needs something else

th_DSCF0031.jpg

I thought about adding a tulle layer under the scallops or mabye bows on the peaks. what do you guys think??
That is SOO cute! I LOVE it!! You know what's funny? I had considered putting together the scallopini and simply sweet patterns on this big give, too! But, then I thought the cowgirl theme would do better with a ruffle.
I like the sash idea and the bows and the tulle! I'm so much help, aren't I? :rotfl:

can anyone tell me how I can get involved in the MAW big give??? I would like to help. Is it for the make a wish foundation? Also sorry I have beeen soooo MIA, dh got me a camera and now I am taking classes for photography and have a wedding in Sept that I am shooting. Also doing pg photos for friends. So.... sewing has been put on the back burner.
You are already involved! Did you see that sparkly brown fabric on Bullseye's head? :thumbsup2

Wow, HeatherSue & princessmom! You are fast!!! :yay:

I am impressed that I have the fabric! Your dresses are beautiful and she is going to LOVE them! What size dress did you make? I will be starting mine tomorrow and want to make sure I have the right measurements! I will also be PMing Heather too!

Sue

Thank you so much!! I made the size 8 simply sweet and added ties to the back in case it was too big.

I have an aunt coming into town who cannot help but give me a lecture about losing weight if I am not in a size 8 or less. Which, just to be CLEAR, I am not popcorn:: (that's not drama popcorn, it's me snacking!!!) So I have to start preparing to tell her that I am happy with myself and how many wonderful things I have going on in my life right now. The first part is completely a lie but I just can't handle her telling me I should really lose weight again.:sad2: So Now I can tell her that someday fat people may save the world

"Save the snacks, save the world" (okay, you have to be a Heroes fan to appreciate that probably and I think it was probably funnier in my head:rotfl: )

...t.

:rotfl2: :lmao: Nope, perty darn funny in my head, too!

I can't believe your aunt does that! How rude! The first time I met Henry's grandma, she said to me. "I liked Henry's last girlfriend, she was really cute." I was 15 years old, so that cut to the quick. But, obviously, I've moved on. :rolleyes1

OT - Has anyone ever ordered jeans from disney shopping for them? I have seen the boys jeans and always seem to run big and wide in the leg and don't like them at all. The girls seem super skinny, but what about the adult! I just want some basic jeans I could wear around the house and the prices are right do you think they run big, small, true to fit?

Thanks!

I ordered some stretchy denim jeans and I really didn't like them. I have a big waist and narrower hips and they are made for normal shaped women with smaller waists and bigger hips. So, I thought they ran big in the hips and small in the waist.

Renae, you are my new idol! :worship: I can't believe you made that by HAND!! I HATE to hand sew and I really stink at it. I am so impressed! I also want to say that I think this is my very favorite dress made out of that Ariel fabric! I made one last year and I don't like it nearly as much as this one! SOOOO cute! Your DD is gorgeous, too!!

Whoo hoo Heather! I am so glad your mom said yes! What are your dates gonna be in February? I plan on doing a long weekend in January or February, not sure which one yet, gotta look at the darn school schedule and really don't want to do it when they are off school!
I'm hoping to go the first week in February, maybe from Sunday to Friday (whatever dates that may be). But, I'm using skymiles, so we'll see when I can actually get a flight.

I thought you were going to say that you don't want to take Dallas out of school, but then you said you don't want to go when they're off school. Spoken like a true Diser! :rotfl:

That is adorable, Jeanne!! I LOVE Luke's cheeseball grin, too. That kid cracks me up! Yep, I really love it and I'm sure Logan will too!

HOWEVER--I am totally kicking you out of the "I Really Hope I Can Go Back In 3 Years" Club!! :snooty:

Really cute! Joy is darling. That is Lily's middle name (and Teresa's) I can't believe you sew by hand though
Oh yeah? Well, I wouldn't want to be a part of a club that would have me as a member. :snooty: (thanks for using my favorite smiley)

Uh-oh, I think it's time to "out" Teresa to the newbies!!

 How exciting! Do you know your dates yet? I'm thinking of going the first week of Feb with just my oldest. She has 2 half days that week so we could do a 5 night trip and she'd only miss 1 full day and 2 half days of school if we arrive late that first night. I haven't said anything to her-have to wait and see about airfare first.
That's the same week I'm hoping to go!! Wouldn't that be funny if we were there at the same time again?

I have always loved that fabric and that top turned out too cute!!

I really love that material, and the top turned out great!
I love it! That fabric is beautiful! I am in the process of a dress with a similar look. But I use patterns, not as brave as you! It is amazing that you hand sew and go patternless...;)

.
I keep reading this "It is amazing that you hand sew and go PANTLESS!"

I think I should go to bed!
Uh-oh, I think it's time to "out" Teresa to the newbies!!!
I have NO idea what you are talking about! :snooty:

Gee Heather, I think you're my new favorite poster! :rotfl: lol

I keep reading this "It is amazing that you hand sew and go PANTLESS!"

Well, I have been known to do that too, maybe I should start sewing for myself...

I have NO idea what you are talking about! :snooty:

Oh do tell! ;)

Ok, time for bed. Although everytime I close my eyes, I see a bunch of Ariels and ruffles coming at me! :lmao:

I haven't been able to catch up from the last few days, but I just wanted to share my excitement with you all!!

I'M GOING TO DISNEY IN FEBRUARY 2009!!!!!!!!!

My mom told me today that she would go with Tessa, Sawyer, and I. I had asked her a few weeks ago and it took her this long to decide. I'm footing most of the bill, so I thought it was a no-brainer! I guess hanging out with me and the kids isn't as fun as I thought! :rotfl:

This will probably be a 5 day trip, no 14 day marathon like our last one!

Okay, back into my dungeon to try and write my next TR installment. Teresa had hers done and I hadn't even started mine this morning.

 YIPPEEEE........!!!! That is great news!!!! So will you be making some kind of Wicked Stepsisters outfit for this next adventure??? (you know...seeing as though you guys had so much fun with them at 1900 Park Faire....especially poor little Sawyer)!!!

I finished a dress for my youngest daughter, and wanted to share. I bought some material and a couple of patterns the other day. But I HATED the patterns, and I realized why I don't use them. hey that came out really darling!!

YES!!! The applique was one of the easiest ones I've done!
Thank you so much!
:yay: Yeah, I am so happy to hear that! It looks amazing but then so did both your Simbas too.

This thread is soo slow right now! Where is everyone? Sewing???? I cut out 65 squares for Sara Beths patchwork twirl skirt so I am about halfway there! Instead of using a rotary cutter I just made a little pattern and cut out about 8 pieces at a time.

I finished up my gauchos for the big give (Isabelle) last night, gonna start the shirt this morning after I finish up a little housework. Dallas wants his Wall E outfit next!

Happy Canada Day!!!!!

To all the Canadians! And anyone who needs a reason to celebrate today!!!

This thread has been a little bit slow. Maybe everyone is taking their summer vacations this week. I rememeber back in the 3rd thread (or around there) it was going so fast, you had a hard time reading everything and keeping up.

So, how many people are still here from the beginning? I cam in on the 6th page of the 1st thread.

Well, everyone have a great day.
