I bought some nice pink flamingo fabric and hot pink fabric to make my oldest DD a bowling shirt (the tomboy does NOT do pink:laughing: ). I showed it to her and she says she doesn't like it. I think she can't picture how it will look and she's worried that it will be a "boys" shirt. I'm still going to make it and if she still doesn't like it I'll give it to a friend who loves pink flamingos.

Then I showed her the McCall's pattern for the round neck dress and explained how I want to make the Minnie dress for Chef Mickey's and she says she doesn't like dresses. I'm still going to make that too and she can just wear it to the meal.

I went to JoAnn's after work so taking her wasn't too convenient. I'll see what she thinks when the projects are really completed but I guess I can't just shop for her any more.

Here's a couple of things that I finished today.

A Strawberry Shortcake pillowcase dress for a girl my sister works with -- it will be for her 2 yr. old niece. The hair bow is clipped to the side.
StrawberryShortcakedis.jpg

And I have been wanting to try some ribbon flip-flops forever and I finally broke down and did a pair. Not the ideal color I wanted but Old Navy only had silver/grey left.

Flipflopsdis.jpg

Now, these are not your ordinary ribbon flip flops. And forgive me if someone else has already done this but I do not recall ever seeing this anywhere.

Flipflopsdis2.jpg

I sewed snaps onto the ribbon for the flip-flop and then put the other side of the snap on the backside of the bow so that I could make them interchangeable. I wrapped the flip-flop in a creamy/white color so that it would be neutral with all the bows/outfits. I think these will look sooo cute with the pillowcase dresses that she has been wanting me to make since they have the ribbon ties but I just did not want to have to make all the colors she would want, so this idea popped into my head. The turqouise is the only color I have done so far but in the next few days I plan to do red, orange, black and pink.

Just wanted to pop in and tell everyone hi. Will be in pretty much lurk mode for the next 2 weeks. Things have changed a lot in our lives in the last week. Which is gonna put me in lurk for the next few. I love everything you guys have posted. There were so many pages I was behind lol. Hoping I am back before you guys move on me again but if you do hopefully someone will come find me lol.

Anyway I had a good ending to a not so great day though I won 3 yards of this fabric. :)

So glad you and your dh are doing at least a little better!! Both the dress and the top are great!!
I need some advice!
I am making a little einstein dress using CarlaC stripwork pattern. I am using these 2 fabrics:
Which of these 2 should I use for the other strips?
th_2008_0718Image0001.jpg

I also went to Hancocks...I am in trouble! and got some different Wall-e fabric than I got last week, which will work for the bodice..
th_2008_0718Image0002.jpg

I also picked up the Nemo story book. I was wondering if anyone out there would trade the storybook for 1 of 2 things...either a mickey mouse storybook or a 101 dalmation pillowcase (new).
I vote- Yellow & red. I bought the Wall-E fabric too!! I am anxious to get moving on some of my projects including the Wall-E. When does the movie come out again????
Here are some pictures from our recent trip...

WDWJune20082397.jpg

She did an absolutely wonderful job on these!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were awesome!!!! My kids received sooooooo much attention!!!!!
I have tons more pictures to share but haven't uploaded them to the laptop yet. I will try to finish tonight!!!
Wow- All of those were so beautiful!!! Looks like you had a great trip!!
DD has been asking for a Snow White set since I started sewing last summer!! I finally got around to it! Of course, my camera died after I took pictures so you all will have to settle for a sneak peek. I got some fabulous bows to match the set!! I'll share those pictures now, and I'll upload more later!!

What no more pictures??? I was hoping when I made it to the end they would be here!! Well the top of her head (snow whites) and the bows look great!!!
Ok, I was checking out the photobucket album and saw the tie dye mickey shirts. Can someone tell me where I can find instructiosn for these? They are so cool that my DH would like to wear one at WDW~:cool1:
I saw someone linked you- we did mickey head tie dyes if you have questions please ask- I'd be glad to help!!

Thanks for all the compliments! I love love love how the pink zebra one came out. The other one is okay. I didn't do to well on the Mickey head.

My BIL's girlfriend makes the bows for me. I sew the outfits for the girls and she makes the bow to match!

The Mickey bow is made like this...

http://shelsmom.blogspot.com/2006/07/korker-hairbow-tutorial.html

I'll have to ask her for a link to how she makes the other bows. I know we found the directions for both on the internet.

That was fast- Thank You!! I have it book marked- now I need to make a trip to the hardware store- Michaels could be dangerous- :rotfl2: Oh and I need to see how clean my oven is too  :lmao:

Hobby Lobby has ribbon half off. I bought 27 rolls on Monday. I'm out of control.
Hobby Lobby had a lot of their fabrics on sale. I went there yesterday and got knit fabric for 3.99 a yd and I noticed that alot of their other fabric was on sale also. I didn't anything else so I actually just bought what I needed. :scared1:

I think it came out great! I am working on a round top for dd4 and I am still working on it. I need to get a zipper in :worried: then I can finish it up. I want to work on my Wall-E outfit ad einsteins outfit.

iluvwdw4ever Love all the dresses. What a cutie!

We are OBSESSED with the Wicked soundtrack in this house... my kids are constantly cracking me up with some Wicked observation or another. "Popular" has become my 3yo's highest compliment - I was trying on dresses this week and she made her favorite known by saying "Oooooh, Mommy, you look so popular!" She also carts her brother's Yoda doll around and calls it Green Baby Elphaba. :rotfl2:

Dexter's not immune either... we were listening to No Good Deed recently and after listening to Elphaba chant the spell in the beginning he turned to me, all bright-eyed, and exclaimed "Mommy! I didn't know Elphaba spoke Spanish!" :lmao:

That is hilarious! DD is also obsessed with Wicked. That's what she asked for for her 4th birthday...Wicked tickets! Here is my little Elphaba (minus the green paint...didn't want it to get on the Opera House seats!)
