Can someone please tell me how you do the character appliques (like the Snow White and Chip and Dale)? Are there patterns somewhere? I would love to learn how to do this.

Ok, so I was just going through my tourguide mike's AVP and looking at advice for birthdays and all of a sudden it HIT me. I am NOT going to be at WDW for my anniversary this year:headache: We are going early b/c friends couldn't get that week off from work. UGH, now I haven't been IN WDW for all of my anniversaries, we spent the first one at Jelly Rolls on boardwalk (and had way too many Margarita's, sorry Lily...I didn't know about you then. ) But how exciting is it to wear our "It's my Anniversary" buttons when it's TRUE? Last year we got free cookies at the bakery in The Land. I am a little bummed out. And I'm on my way to weight watchers in like 2 minutes and now I'm thinking about cookies.

Anyway, I know that it will be exciting to be there on the day Little turns 3 EXCEPT, and I know that flaming may come my way...BUT, we were really planning on sneaking her in as 2. For Mac, it will be cool to pay for the 10 and up pass as he has passed into double digits and he will be proud of his "adult" pass, but I was hoping to get Lily in for a little while longer. So it's not like I want to go around advertising that she is 3 (at least not until we're well past the turnstiles:laughing: )

Anyway, I gotta run, WW's awaits.. :(

Check the very first post in this thread. Tons of bookmarks and information for you there! :)

I think that you will be OK with getting Lily in "free". It all depends on what age she will be at the time of your arrival. If she turns three while there she is still considered free.

Here are some pictures from our recent trip...

She did an absolutely wonderful job on these!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were awesome!!!! My kids received sooooooo much attention!!!!!

I have tons more pictures to share but haven't uploaded them to the laptop yet. I will try to finish tonight!!!

Those are so cute! I would recognize Designed*By*Dena's work anywhere! Isn't she great?

Also I am thinking about taking the leap into the world of the ruffler....my question is how do I determine how long of a strip to make for this particular thing. In other words if I start out with 20 inches (just for s&g as I know that is no where near enough) what will I end up with and will I always end up with that same length if I always have my ruffler set to the same notch? Thank you so much.

I found the most adorable fabric at a Quilt store in a city near where I live. I think it is going to be a great match up to go with the JoJo shirt. Only thing is I wanted to find a coordinating set of polka dot fabrics to match and that seams to be the issue I am now having. But onward I will persue.:moped:)

YCMT.com has a great guide. I had it all figured out and my ruffler broke. Now I can't find one to work with my machine! Since I'm working on a petticoat, it's been a nightmare!

Linnette

Glad Hubby and yourself are doing better. Sorry to hear that he still has more to go through. I love your dress!! Your a quick sewer!

Okay, get ready for TOO MUCH LILYS!!!

The dress is a teeny bit big, but that's a good thing. And her hair looks kinda stringy because it was still wet.

This dress is adorable!

These are so much fun!! We love Chip and Dale!

DD has been asking for a Snow White set since I started sewing last summer!! I finally got around to it! Of course, my camera died after I took pictures so you all will have to settle for a sneak peek. I got some fabulous bows to match the set!! I'll share those pictures now, and I'll upload more later!!

IMG_1212-1.jpg

I just don't like the big bows, but these are really adorable. I can't wait to see the Snow White dress!

I usually photo copy a coloring book page. Use the whole picture for the base, then sort of peice the rest of it together using wonderunder. I stitch in layers. The background peices first. Then layer up. I usually use matching thread, unless it calls for something different. I did a Pluto in all black. I think because it made me think of the coloring book?

Ok, I was checking out the photobucket album and saw the tie dye mickey shirts. Can someone tell me where I can find instructiosn for these? They are so cool that my DH would like to wear one at WDW~:cool1:

They are so cute. And so are their outfits. ;) You know dd2 is just about 2 weeks older than Sawyer.....

Oh, and your zoo is way cooler than ours. My girls would LOVE to see the giraffes that close up.
How cool that they're so close in age!! We do have the coolest zoo ever! I have been to lots of zoos and love our local zoo the most. The giraffes are in a huge hilly field (the savannah) along with all sorts of other African animals. The animals are all kept in areas as natural as possible (other than the kids feeding them crackers, that is).

Forget the outfits, I am still marveling at the fact that Tessa is in jeans and sawyer has a jacket on!!! OMG it is HOT here! Good thing this Florida girl likes the heat.
I KNOW!! It was really cold here yesterday and today. We've been having the craziest weather lately!

He also loves to mop and does it fairly well!   I may never give him up!:lmao:

You can buy a craft glue at Walmart called E6000 that you can use to glue something on to fabric and it will survive the wash (not sure about the dryer). It is kind of thick so maybe you could spread it out on the back of your decal and glue it on. I've been impressed with how well it works.
Hey, that's not the deal!! Tessa is a very good helper, too. She keeps her room "spotless" (her words) and she puts away all of her own laundry. She also likes to help do other chores around the house. So, I think they'll have a very clean house! :rotfl:

I've dired stuff with E6000 in the dryer and it stays put really well!

It is from Asia but doesn't smell weird :confused3 :rotfl2: (I'm almost disappointed)
You cracky me up!!!:rotfl:

Linnette, that is FABULOUS!!! I LOVE it!!

Yay! I finally got my Lily fix!! I love her new dress, it's absolutely adorable!

I like the orangish red the best and the yellow!

Wow, those are beautiful appliques, and even more beautiful kids!!!!

How stinkin cute are they!! We went to a Safari in Ohio this past wekend. We got to feed the giraffs too - out of the sunroof of our car!!
th_IMG_1173.jpg

Yep, that was through the sunroof.
Wow!! That is so cool!!! Was that in Michigan somewhere?

There's that cute head!!!

(Hi sweetheart!!!)
Wendy!!! You DO still exist!! Nice to see you around!

I wrote an applique tutorial that you might want to check out. It has LOTS of pictures. Here's the link: http://disboutique.blogspot.com/2008/04/bestest-applique-tutorial.html
There are some other good tutorials in the bookmarks, too.

Love the bows! I can't wait to see the rest! I have a "casual snow white" on the drawing board for Lily, but nothing fancy.

That is so cute!!:rotfl2:

JEANNE: Hey, Miss Popular, clean out your inbox!

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

IT'S ALL ABOUT POPULAR!
IT'S NOT ABOUT APTITUDE
IT'S THE WAY YOU'RE VIEWED
SO IT'S VERY SHREWD TO BE
VERY VERY POPULAR
LIKE ME!

I'm sorry, but Jayden and I have been listening to the Wicked soundtrack all day long and that song is just stuck in my head! I love that song. But no, I don't think I'm popular. It could be just a lot of hate mail in that inbox :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

While I'm waiting for my photos to upload into photo bucket, here is some fabric I won on :wizard: a few weeks ago. It is from Asia but doesn't smell weird :confused3 :rotfl2: (I'm almost disappointed) I'm going to use some of it to make Luke a bowling shirt for his birthday trip and hopefully will have enough left to use for some thing else.

th_IMG_0740-1.jpg
Great fabric - that will make an adorable bowling shirt!

I went to Hancock today and I went a little overboard. They had lots of good stuff half off. I got the surfing mickey and a Nemo storybook. All novelty fabric is 40% off. i got wall-e and the new pink princess I have been seeing on ebay.
I'm sooooooooo bummed I don't have a Hancock's within 75 miles of me. :( I see all these adorable fabrics you guys are getting - nevermind ON SALE - and I'm jealous!

My husband is out of the hospital, fine but full of bruises and his hand(right) is swollen, he will be out of work for a while:worried: so our trip to Disney "might" have to be postpone depending in his surgery and when will he be back to work...But he is alive and that is all that counts. My headaches are better ...(Thank you.. Saint Percoset;) )

so...like a good disboutique sister that I am here is what I worked on this morning
